IN-STOCK: All-New TYPE 81 SR

I picked up my SR from the post office today and much to my disappointment but also not a surprise the Cheek pad latch mechanism does not fit. Its way too tight.... aftermarket SVD cheek pads ALWAYS are -_- tried bending some of the metal bits to stretch the system out, the steel main hook snapped right off lol. Guess its made from hard non malleable steel.

Weord, I took mine on and off several times. Very first time was a pain to get everything squished together for the clasp to reach, but sfter that it's fitted perfectly

I got mine on too but it scratched the stock up pretty good.

Did the wrest mar anyone else’s stock?

Risking asking possibly a very dumb question but the mount that comes with the SR model to attach the NPZ scope it should not have any problems bolting up to a optics ready fixed / folder? I believe a few posts back someone had it mounted on a folder but not sure if the same mount was used.

I mounted it today, very easy. But maybe TI should include a description how to do it, I don't think this is too much to ask for when he is expecting people to spend so much money. Not even a small Allen key is included.

When the scope is too tight like it was on mine, just push the metal piece down above the lever and turn the ragged bolt a little bit.

Tried mounting my other POSP I have, but it is too big and won't clear the rear sight, it is also designed to slide in from the other side.

Good to know! So you can use the same mount on the fixed / folder versions as you would on this new SR? Wasn’t sure if the SR has its own specific mount if the optic ready bolts are slightly spaced different or something.

Same mount and same placement, they are using the small bolts holding the rifle's hammer and plate. I am not such a big fan of that setup but seems to be the only option unless you want to drill holes, in that case you have to use a plate behind the side rail like the gnnutz guy did on youtube. Not really hard but measure thrice and drill once, lol. Those AK side plates they sell on aliexpress do not work with the POSP scopes.

I passed on the scope combo. I suspected that an inexpensive 60's era soviet bloc scope mounted on a questionable spec rail may not be the ideal sighting platform. I can shoot iron sights very well and will test for accuracy when I get mine. I bought some hornady black, geco target and have various surplus.

It should be pretty easy to rig a mount for a rear aperture sight on that stock which would make it a great iron sight plinker.... won't have "the look" but should be a fun gun.

i mounted the npz scope on the kobra rail that is installed on a folder just for fun but i do not see an issue of mounting any rail to any optic ready rifle.

TI: "There is a second trigger stop screw included in the delivery kit, the one installed in the firearm is too long. "

But I only got one screw attached to the receipt. The rifle come with no screw and I only find one on paper. Anyone got two screws?

do you need that rest for the scope and open sifgts?

No. I actually find it difficult to acquire the sights using the cheek rest - it placed my face too far off the stock and I have to tilt my head at 45 degrees.

I’m not sure how some people can use the cheek rest? It does look better on then off tho.

Ya cheekrest is useless with the sights, actually I find the cheekrest useless as is with the scope too but it sure does look good on the stock
