Transfer Times

I was informed by a retail store yesterday out of Ontario that the transfer times are approx 5 months. I ordered a pistol on Sept 26th and was informed it would be at least until Feb 2023 before the transfer.

Since you're in Alberta, it's entirely up to the local Alberta CFO. Nothing to do with Ontario.
In a few weeks, or whatever time they make you wait, email them and see if they can approve your transfer.
Alberta CFO is one of the few that do on-demand transfers. You're lucky.

This is insane! I have about 20k worth of new pistols that I have yet to get. My first one was started on June 17th!

It is super frustrating that private-to-private transfer is taking extremely long in Ontario. Btw I have another one initiated on the same day with the TN of 59210xx, so it is approximately 600 transfers in between the two, considering 1/3 of them so that will be 200 for the Ontario CFO to process (maybe ~ 150 of them are business to private? I'm not sure). Now it has been two full days but I haven't heard anything about the second one, let's wait and see what is the ON CFO processing rate for the private transfers.

Transfer to Quebec 5975### approved today, initiated July 23. Along with 6030### from Sept 11. The Sept one is because Quebec CFO is approving whatever you've got when they get to your earliest.

It seems it depends on who you get at the QC CFO. I'm waiting on purchases made in June, July, and August, and only received the transfer for 1 of them, all others still pending.

If you are in AB, call the CFO office. Got all of my transfers for purchases made in early October approved in 2 phone calls

Arevyiu calling the alberta extension number? The general number and prompts won't do this for you. Just got my final one done thursday.

Ya, I used the AB extension. Only tried once. I'll give it another go Monday and see how it goes. Thanks for the response

I emailed the CFO and they said they will not approve batch transfers, they are doing one by one….so be prepared to wait….(Ontario)

This is well known. Even a letter from the CFO that indicated they wouldn't be doing batch transfer or out-of-sequence approvals.
What isn't known is why they insist on doing so when several other CFOs are doing batches.
