Win, lose or draw. How was the panic buy before the freeze

I think it worked out okay ended up buying a lot of low end stuff and wish I could have had more time to test. Overall I got,

2x Walther P1 Frames
Glock 17
Type 54 (Chinese Tok)
Girsan 1911 Standard size
GSG 1911 in 22lr
Heritage Rough Rider
Jericho 941 Surplus

My big regret is buying a lot of low end, especially the Girsan, GSG and Rough Rider as I'm worried that they might break fairly quickly. My main goal will be to basically rebuild the girsan into something nice and baby the other two.

In summary….
- Ran out of time and funds before I got everything I wanted (9mm 1911)
- have some models I wanted in calibers I didn’t want but will have to make due (Ie. Vaquero in 45 Colt vs .357mag)
- wish I could have received and tried out all I ordered to know if I like it and if not, had a chance to sell

But will have enough to enjoy for years.

Picked up 20 and sold 11. Some were upgrades on stuff that I sold, others were bucket list guns that id wanted for a while (luger, C96, P7M13, Benelli B76).

I got my... Bond, James Bond.... 380 bersa thunder nickel, which now keeps company with my cz75 preb factory nickel.
I didnt miss out on any new acquisitions as I am happy with what I have.
Sorry for all those who didnt get what they wanted.

Also sorry for the many businesses across the country which had a bumper few months, but lost an irreplaceable and considerable amount of business revenue, that will impact their viability, I suspect.

Girsan are great guns man- I have the MC28 OR, MC9, Regards MC (Gold plated)
GSG1911 is also great gun--shot over 6,000 rounds through it with no issues.

I was able to add the following to my collection:
CZP10F
Berretta 92s
Glock 21
Chinese Tokarev
Sig P320
Desert eagle (Gold)

I did alright. Collection wise there were a bunch I missed out on (big boy wheel gun .454 .500, desert eagle, m9a4)

I was able to snag up:

S&W 686 .357
Ruger Wrangler
Sig tac ops

patiently waiting for the sig and 686. Fairly well rounded for range time and some .22 plinkers I can use to teach the kids.

Got a pistol I liked just because of its design, a ZEV 09, with lots of spare parts, two zev barrels and 6 glock mags, not out of EE and the crazy prices of CGNer and it's "rare", ï know what I got", "unobtaniun" or grab whyle you can bullsh@t.

I have an ad to sell one and I had like 10 people trying to jump on it.

like going shopping on xmas eve at 7pm.

I feel sad for the young folks starting out. I was on the phone talking with a guy who just got his RPAL in the mail 3 days ago. He is trying to get a gun and there are none.

I never did get a luger, I would have liked a shooter even a clone since they are something different. I did pick up a few that were on my long term wish list. I had no plans to get them any time soon, but you have to go with the times. Now I just need to wait for them to clear.

I came out alright.

Grabbed everything I was after. A few of the purchases weren't 'necessary, but more "Why not" kind of purchase.

There was one that got away though. Found out today, of all days of course. The shop I purchased it from, the transfer somehow wasn't started. Someone dropped the ball on that one.

I bought my last handgun a Browning Hi Power one month before the announced freeze. Picked it up for a good price. Everything went fairly quickly for the Ontario CFO. Three weeks for pick up, one week in the mail from Alberta.
Now with 10 hand guns in the cabinet I hope at 71 I live long enough to burn the barrels out. WHERE'S THE PRIMERS !!!!!!!

Worst timing financially. Missed the boat on so many, but mostly missing a .45 1911..
I am grateful for those I did manage to snag; 2 9mm (one hammer, one striker) a .22 semi, and very happily a .357 revolver

I keep trying to convince myself this is all a bad dream, and or Pierre is gonna reverse this bs

Okay I was just using my past experience with Turkish shotguns and GSG 15/16s. Glad that I'm worng :)

Already had everything I ever 'realistically' wanted before the freeze was first announced. :p

After it was announced, but before the asking prices went stupid, I sold 4 handguns: two Glocks, one in 9mm and one in .40 S&W, that were duplicates of what I already had; an original series 'marked' Norc 1911A1 .45ACP which was just surplus to my needs and a Ruger 22/45 .22lr with 4.5" slab side barrel as it had sat NIB, unfired, in the safe for a few years. To date, haven't missed any of them.

Was not intending to acquire anything further, then a local gun buddy, who is not on CGN, offered me an as NIB gen 3 Glock 17 9mm with factory OD colored frame on a good deal. Thought, "what the heck" I was already way ahead of the curve with the sales above, so picked that one up.

Never had any issue with any of the a/a transfers going thru. No hic-cups.

So, all in all, all good for me in sales & acquisition department.

However, that all said, I'm very sad about what has come about, though. After > 40 yrs of handgun ownership I am ever more disgusted with this Liberal federal government we seem to be endlessly stuck with. And the current crop of morons seemingly in charge of all the BS they continuously want to ram down our throats.
