First thing first, we will address the regulars who will soon show up crying "you are just trying to create fear to sell product" crowd. In light of what is going on with dirty bomb threats in Ukraine, we still DO NOT think people in Canada must buy gas masks and chemical suits. We are not in that part of the world.

Nevertheless, people are buying these products at a rate 20x of what we are used to. There may be only around 3-5K gas masks and suit in stock in surplus stores at any given time in Canada. That is fine to cover the demographic that buys them for a novelty to put up in the man cave, or as a Halloween costume.

The regular folks and the "what if" crowd are now getting edgy and we are seeing large orders of 5-10 masks going out the door. If you are interested in having something for the man cave or to use hunting (Chemical suits have been used to filter out human scent), now is a good to buy these, as things are looking like they will go the way they did 6 months ago.

If one side or the other does use a dirty bomb in Ukraine, instead of there been a market of a few thousand people for this stuff, we can expect a half a million people to join the market. There is just not enough of it on store shelves if this happens.

I used to be on the CBRNE team for the fire department. There are more times than i could count where we were minutes away from a radiation disaster. My family has Mira masks. Do I think we need it for a dirty bomb in Canada. No, but nuclear fallout is a real thing

During the scamdemic, supplies of gas masks and chemical suits took a hit the first month as people were not sure what it was all about. 2 years later Russia goes into Ukraine and the same items were being purchased in bulk to send over or volunteers purchased it for their own use.

There was also allot of people at home buying it "just in case". Still a bit of supply in surplus stores, however the supply through wholesale (the ones who re-supply the stores) is empty.

I spent most of my career dealing with trauma scene clean up. A lot of this stuff has multiple uses and most of them aren’t worst case scenarios. It’s relatively inexpensive and priceless if you need it. Sewer back ups happen all the time and floods aren’t for swimming in…to name a couple of unhealthy environments. Renovating a hunt cabin? Picking around old barns? Herding monkeys…all of those activities involve airborne poop, at least you can see the monkey poop. Cheers.

You forgot the politicians. They are all full of poop and flinging it endlessly at us!

3D printed gas mask canister converters and expired russian, Serbian and Chinese canisters won’t do us much good here in any real event….
