Handguns Worth Now

Claiming a ‘financial’ loss of value for something that is still registered in your name and still possessed by you won’t wash.
What? People do that all the time dont they? Is it not called capital loss? I had all sorts of capital losses in equipment etc, when I had a small contracting business until it had no value anymore but I still owned it.

I believe you would have to claim it against another capital gain, but I think for personal capital loss against your lifetime capital gains exemption would make it kind of moot with no benefit. DISCLAIMER: This is the opinion of an uneducated person in financial systems and taxes

For an asset owned by a business, you can claim depreciation. Is that what you mean? I don't think personally owned handguns will qualify.

To people who say handguns are priceless dont realize that in the next 5 years you will not be going to the range, what will you do with dozens of handguns you bought?

People claimed that ar15 will never be banned, others thought handguns will never be banned.

How many RIGHT NOW believe that some form of central storage will not be implemented or that ammo will be 5x the price it is now, or that libs wont introduce more laws that will make you want to quit your hobby.

Enjoy them while we can? My handguns are worth exactly the same to me as they were before the bans. By themselves they mean nothing, their worth to me is the fun I can have with them shooting competitions and whatnot.

Pity the people that don't buy things that would make them happy out of fear of what the government might do. If I had to surrender all of my guns tomorrow, but I could go back in time to the day I bought each one of them, you bet your ass I still would.

Your comments are all the more reason why they are priceless. The more oppressive the government gets, the more valuable they become for SHTF scenarios.

They can introduce all the laws they want, I feel better knowing I have tons of guns and ammo secured away. Having guns is more then just a hobby for me, it's security from a BS liberal /WEF agenda.

What will you be doing with your F150, your natural gas furnace? Same goes for all of these. The government is hell bent on making all of these things on some level of "ban" list.

For now, like my gas vehicles and cheap heating, I get to go out and use my hand guns. Of course they are registered and someone knows what and where they are, but there are a lot of other firearms in this country, that are not on anyones books.

Central storage has been a dream that will never be realized, because the logisitics of running, and maintaining it are beyond what any government is prepared to do politically or economically. It seems so simple in the concept but when it comes down to executing it will be impossible. Just look at the fiasco of the assault style buyback.

Dont worry, the gov wont come to your door to get guns, they will make owning them so painful that you will go to them

How much can you sell them for? There's your answer...

Fixed it for you. The law only matters in a capitalistic endeavor if you get caught. Or at least that's the lesson I've taken from every politician of the last 50 years.

I'd say they could become invaluable in the not so distant future. We're still the most vetted members of Canadian society, and yet none of us have blown our tops with the absolute insanity we've faced the last few years.
While this fact has escaped this country's politicians, I'm sure our law enforcement are well aware: people with RPALs are not the problem Canada is facing.
