Whats THE Ruger No.1 You Just Gotta Have?

The FRT shows guns that Have been examined or registered previously. Or that were submitted for classification etc. The most recent copy that Armalytics has shows only the .460 as being Prohibited. My guess is it was likely a custom rifle that was registered at one point and caliber given as .460.


I can find no advertising for the .460 Weatherby from the factory. Both on google and in Gun Digests going back to the 40s.

Like the MKV Weatherby only the .460 is listed as Prohibited based on energy. Weatherby would make you a MKV in .460 in just about any layout you wanted hence the various models listed. But again The FRT for the MKV shows only the .460 as prohibited.
 
Uncommon around here at least commercial sporting rounds exceeding 7375.621 / 10 kJ muzzle energy threshold some I've heard of: .577 T-Rex, .600 NE, .700 NE,...

Like to see Ruger offer stainless grey laminate No.1-S medium sporters once again. đź‘Ť

A funny thing is with the exception of having no 1 stamped on the top of the receiver the average cop wouldn’t recognize a Ruger No 1 if they tripped over it

A couple years ago I met the husband of one my co-workers at the airport when she and I flew in from work; he was picking her up after her flight, and she mentioned something about a deer that I had shot shortly before. He asked to see the pic, which showed my prized No1 laying clearly displayed across the buck's body, well-lit and in perfect focus. He commented "Oh, and you got him with a muzzleloader!"

He was a nice guy who didn't have the first clue what he was seeing...and he was a cop.

you re trying to make sense on something that does not ... it was the same when they banned the ak47 and variants for the look and others since a while now. when the oic came in may 2020 everybody focused on the bad black gun like ar 15 and forgot that already some hunting duck rifles and shotguns were banned. when a little over a month ago they banned and frost handguns not that much came out from it but now that is related to the lovely number 1 you re waking up ... i have a message for you the anti well will never stop and will never be happy only all the guns will gone from your hands be ready for that because as you re seeing nobody care about the others ...

imagine the number of owners that owns only black rifles and handguns and do not own any hunting duck rifles ... they are feeling a less alone ...
 
I think it is wrong to assume that I only care now that people are panicking because of the No.1 . You have no idea how the OIC and the latest round of BS has affected my friends/family and myself. No idea of the financial loss, loss of guns passed down not to mention lost recreational opportunities.

Everyone needs to read and understand the amendment and Bill C21. FYI aside from guns banned by name C21 actually clarifies where bore diameter is measured removing the grey area about some shotguns.

Don’t make this worse than it is already. Understand what hasn’t been affected as much as what has.

This will be my last post in this thread.
