Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

There can’t be too many who can make this claim - one owner for 59 years, I bought it new in Eaton’s department store in Halifax in 1963. .270 Win. Model 4000, all steel bottom metal, 20 1/2” barrel fitted with ramp and front sight but no accommodation for a rear sight, drilled and tapped for receiver sight or scope. Monte Carlo stock ( non monte carlo was the 4100, the Model 5000 was less money, 21 inch barrel with sights and aluminum bottom metal, plain wood). I hunted this rifle hard for many years, mainly as my sheep, goat and caribou mountain rifle, backpacking and horse hunting. Always carefully maintained but when the inevitable knocks, bumps and bruises became too hard to bear I had both metal and wood refinished and at the same time had the redundant front sight and ramp removed. About the only BC game not to fall to the old girl is grizzly, now semi retired but it has probably put a boxcar full of game on the ground.

,

very nice,it really has held up well ,great to hear the history, kelly

This is a Husqvarna Fn98 model 648, I picked up a month a go.
It Cleaned up fine and it was already Glass bedded and free floated. Just working up some loads for it now.

I changed the scope mount to a see through, now I can use the original safety, cold blued the barrel and action.
Built some 196 gr bullets, at 2580 fps it shot a group at 1 1/8".

From this fall. My 270, wearing a Kahles 2x on claw mounts. It has the checkered butt, serrated trigger and finer checkering.

What is a Lyx model?

The 1600 and 1640 Lyx (deLuxe) European models have selected french walnut schnabel stock, foerend checkering, cheekrest, checkered butt (wood butt), barrel mounted front sling swivel (1640), jeweled bolts. They, most of the time, have the "Timney-Tradewinds" HVA adjustable trigger and "engraved" magazine door
The early versions have fixed rear sight, older ones have three leaf folding sights, but they may have come with any HVA sights upon request.

Thank you.

Price check help please.
So I may be able to aquire a Huskavarna imperial crown grade in 308.
It's in nice shape.
Just looking for a rough value any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply.
Ya I assumed it would probably be a ways north of $1000 these days
Considering many polymer junk "budget guns" are now.

The price really depends on model, condition, location and the will to own it.
It can't be an Imperial and a Cround Grade at the same time, it's one or the other. The Imperial are far from being common and are marked as such, so it's more likely a "3000" Imperial or even a different model. It's impossible to know without photos or really clear description of the gun.
My suggestion would be to you to check online pricing of the many dealers offering them in Canada...

What do you want to know ?
It's a late model 1600 std with the "alloy" bottom metal, with a buttpad added. The Hakko scope is japanese, distributed by Olin / Winchester and Winscan of Sweden is the exclusive Winchester products importer who also bought the Husqvarna tradename in the late '80s.

Well I bought this rifle was wondering if it was original made as a carbine or it was cut down later in life .Thanks for the scope info it as a multi colour reticle. Also the rifle is fitted with claw mounts so I’m thinking it should be a neat little hunting rifle package ,some say the carbine has a fair bit of recoil I guess that’s why the butt plate was replaced .Just wondering what others might have to say about the rifle. Thanks again Baribal for the info

That's what my GF uses, in 30-06. The barrel is 520mm (+/- 20.5").
She's a small, tiny woman and she can shoot it, so I guess you'll be good to go
