The stock looks similar to my Crown Grade 2 or perhaps an Imperial grade.

I have been waiting a long time to have one of these come into my possession.
Baribal, I was told it is a Husqvarna model 4000.
Markings are as follows: barrel - .30-06 Nitro, action- 512440 - FFV Husqvarna . Sweden , grip cap - Carl Gustof - Sweden, But plate has the crown over gears symbol. Hopefully flikr link to the pics is working.

Looks like a 8000/9000 series to me

I think the 8000-9000 series had the bolts jeweled, this one doesn't, that's why we think it's a 4000.

Isn’t that a Crown grade 2? I think Barisal has stated imperial’s have the name Imperial stamped on the barrel.

Not a 4000 for sure. First off, a 4000 have a 520mm barrel and a Mauser type action.
Like I see it from the pic and SN, it's a Grade II.
The 8000/9000 just applies to Tradewinds imports and SN must be below 398###

Hopefully this doesn't offend Baribal , but this was a recently completed project Husqvarna 146. It will hopefully be a loyal companion for many years. The original stock was reworked and turned out very nicely.

What makes you think so ?
I never been against mods. As far as some of the most rare / scarce and original / untouched rifles are kept as is for the posterity...
The vast majority of the supply already have been altered, as 50-100 years old rifles surely saw some use...

Anyhow, nice rig you built there.

Ah! Ah ! tnx then. I really like to think the modified rifles will continue to harvest in the field for another 100 years minimum than seeing them being kept in safes far from the eyes and hearts... They were intended to be used, after all !

I absolutely agree! This one should stay in the field for decades to come.

I concur with your assessment, Baribal, after doing some digging on the web, it is most deffinately a Carl Gustaf 1900 grade 2 . I found info and pics of similar rifles on Gundboard and I apologize for assuming it was a 4000. I will be keeping it anyways, and will hunt with it this fall.
