I'm so impressed with this that my first full video will be about this rifle.

This is my brand new CZ 455 Thumbhole in a gorgeous laminated dark grey wood.

When I first picked this up at the store (as in, just handled it) I fell in love. I don't think I ever held a rifle that felt so comfortable. The curves on this thing, the ergos in general, it's really something else. I didn't think much of it until I slapped a Vortex Diamondback HP (3-12x42) and took it to the range with a buddy of mine.

I was floored by just how great the accuracy is! I was slapping bullseye consistently, 14 shots in a row. I do realize 25m is not very far for most people. But I'm legally blind, and the fact that I was able to get THAT tight of a group just made me smile.

I used a bag with this, though later bought a bipod, and that's what attached now. It's so comfortable I think I could shoot it all day long. The cheek rest is super big, allowing me to practically fall asleep while getting a sight picture :p It's got a pretty solid butt pad too but tbh it's a 22 so even with HV rounds there's no kick to speak of (or barely any).

For the longest time I was considering a RPR or 10/22. But holy cow. This has really opened my eyes so to speak. This is a REALLY good rifle. And it looks awesome to boot. I also feel that with the bolt action, it feels a lot more manual, a lot more like you're one with the gun so to speak, as opposed to a semi. You also go through ammo a bit slower which is good for me since I tend to blow through 22 very quickly :p

I'm wondering what you think about this, if you own one, or want one, and what you dressed it with if you have one :) Full video coming soon. Much love from Toronto and thanks to everyone for their continued support of my new channel.

More people love CZ 455's/457's than don't.

I have an MTR .22lr & an MTR .17 HMR .

...skwerl

:D I can't believe I didn't know about it til now. I was looking for a fun 22 to plink with and had my eye on the 10/22 TD for the longest time. SO glad I went with this. Also, .17 HMR is almost exclusively for hunting no? I've seen some people hunting rabbits with that and it seems to be very effective.

I have no idea what this means

.17 HMR is a tiny projectile with a comparatively large powder load. I believe it stands for Hornady Magnum Rimfire. I think that because of those characteristics it's better suited to hunting instead of target practice, but I am not sure and that's why I asked :)

A pretty good rule of thumb is this.
If you plan on using it as a hunting rifle you should burn up about 95-99% of your ammo on target practice.

I'm a big fan of CZ rimfire firearms. Affordable, well built and they are decently accurate. Everyone who I know who has one likes them, and everyone I've seen handle them thinks they are nice. Overall CZ's rimfire line is great. The barrel swap concept is cool as well if you want to try other calibers like 17hmr, 22wmr, 22lr.

The equivalent of measure twice cut once I reckon :p Well, I am very happy with my results today - but I do want to take it out to a further range. maybe I'll wait for my buddy to take me back to Barrie Gun Club - they have some wonderful outdoor ranges that I'd love to use to test this gun's mettle.

Yes, my buddy was pretty jealous today and he brought a Glock 19, P09 and SKS :p I shot this thing all day today and just felt so comfortable, so relaxed. I think this is my new "just relax and enjoy rifle" - it's just that worry free.

I didn't know there was an option for swapping barrels but that's an interesting prospect that I'd like to explore sometime. I did see some nice 22WMR options but didn't get a rifle chambered JUST in that because I found the ammo is a tad pricy for 22. (some upwards of 30c a round, which is 20c shy of my Norinco 7.62x39 surplus :p)

Glad to hear you are enjoying your new rifle. CZ makes good guns.

Thank you brother :) Yeah I'm having a blast :) Nice not to have to worry about ammo prices too (I buy 500 CCI Blazer 40gr for about $55). I can shoot ONE .308 out of my Tikka (which is still love) or 13 out of my CZ :p

I'll be working on a full video sometime this week to really show it off.

Ya the swap feature works great, and is super easy to do. The Mini sets as CZ calls them can be hard to find they get sold out quickly when they make it into the country. So if you see them and want one don't hesitate to grab it. Can often find them a tad bit cheaper on the EE though.

I've owned a number of CZ rifles over the years, and they are every bit as good as ever. A CZ455 Canadian in 17HMR, a 455 training rifle in .22 LR; and presently, a Beautiful 452 with the fanciest walnut stock I have ever seen on a .22, (Mine is on the right, my friends with beech stock is on the left) and I am working on a Brno Model 4 Restoration project Tack driver it is too. All are/were great shooters. I was not really impressed with the 17 HMR; very accurate but limited in range and power.

Agree. Cz makes a wonderful rimfire.
I have had Cz, Brno, and now use mostly Tikka rimfires. I would not hesitate to own any of those 3 at any time.

Center fire guys always talk in a condescending tone when talking about rimfire or to rimfire guys .
This thread is a perfect example
