I was at the range in the summer, and some guy caught my attention shooting something with a larger bang then usual. It was a Tokarev. He said out of his 52 handguns, he will be selling everything but his favorite 12 handguns, and this Tokarev he’s keeping. Latter that night, I bought a Romanian tt33 from marstar. I received it this week, and first thing I tried to do was rack it. The extractor arm falls out. Lol , it was missing the pin and spring to hold the arm in. Anyway, I cleaned it up, re-lubbed everything, and it looks really good. I got the barrel mostly cleaned up. It looked pitted and dirty, and I’ll give it a few more rounds of bore cleaner and brushing to get it okay. If marstar doesn’t get back to me or have parts that I can at least buy, there’s plenty on eBay.
I'd be on the phone to marstar. They should not have sold you a gun with missing parts, and they should make it right.
I'm shocked the bore is badly pitted as well. Usually tokarev barrels are in nice shape. One good reason to buy the Chinese ones with chromed bores... Or at least that was a good idea back when we could still buy handguns. Maybe you can get a replacement barrel also.
Owned two Russians for a few years, During the panic I bought a Yugo and a Chinese, Super impressed with the quality of both, Both were brand new never shot, The Yugo is a little ahead of the Chinese in fit and finish but not by much. Was hoping to get a Romanian and Polish too but missed the boat.
Got rid of the mag safety on the Yugo right away, and swapped the trigger spring with a Russian one since it was such a heavy pull
and for #### and giggles I put some rare Russian grips on the Chinese one.

The bottom left gun in the first picture, do those grips help improve the grip angle? The Tok is kinda square.
The entire grip angle has been changed actually. Along with the back of the frame/slide,hammer and sights, and obviously grips. I believe it was one of 4 custom Tok's that came into Canada from who knows where! Its extremely comfortable, and blows the regular Tokarev grip out of the water.

Love my Russian 1945 Tokarev. Shoots great, accurate, and with the additional brake, I don't find it snappy at all. This one has (M.O./52) stamp beside the date.

how do the Romanian ones fare????
I received another barrel from north Silva for my Romanian. It looks so much better then the rusty pitted one I first got. I”m still missing the extractor pin and spring so I’ll reach out again to North Silva or marstar tomorrow. I’ll see if I can figure out how to post pics.
