Now that we have time to process, any purchase regrets as far as money spent?

Ok so I keep a spreadsheet with my list of guns and serial numbers etc. While updating it today to add in one of my transfers that came through, I did a kind of dumb thing and went back and added up how much I spent on handguns this summer. I know I probably spent a lot less that others but my plan was to buy some and then sell the ones that were meh and keep the ones that i really liked. (we all know how that turned out)

So now I have a bunch of handguns with some being exactly the same type. For example I have 3 - .22 single action revolvers different bands but essentially the same gun.

I am all right with it because i could afford it but when I think about it I could have used that money for a few other projects that were pushed forward so I could participate in the frenzy. That being said I am not sure I would sell any if I was able to again.

Anyone have any regrets about how much you may have spent, what you got for your money etc?

Nope, none. I've always been selective on my purchases, I bought one that I thought perhaps I paid a bit too much for but retrospectively I didn't. My only regret is that I can't buy anymore.

Nope, got a few guns I had been looking at for a while, this whole circus sideshow of a government just sped up the process.

Sold four; acquired one.

Had been at it for > 40 yrs, though. Happy with what I have on hand, for now. ;)

That said, there was no reason for the Libs to "freeze" handguns acquisitions. Total bullstuffins.

Hopefully, it will change back, down the road, when we get someone sensible running this country.

NAA.

I regret flipping a mint LAR Grizzly in 357 to pick up some 9mm staples - a Glock, P320 and a M9. Liking the Sig and Beretta. If I had more time, I probably would have resold the Glock but maybe I'll like having it in the future.

I also made the mistake of adding up all my restricted purchases. I regretted it for 4-5 months until my first pistol showed up a couple weeks ago, no regrets now. Still have more to come. The way I see it if C-21 passes it will take years to maybe decades to repeal, in which case I have my collection available to use. If C-21 doesn't pass, it could still takes years to repeal the OIC, and I'll have them long paid off anyways, but could sell a couple off lol.

I spent $3k and felt like I did well. I didn’t have the time that I needed to devote to shooting handguns so I sold them all off a couple of years ago. Reloading gear and all. I’ve always regretted selling some of them so it was easy for me to make a list of pistols that I’d potentially have to take to the grave. The only one I couldn’t lock down was a s&w 586 revolver. I missed a couple at $750 and wasn’t prepared to spend over $1k.
I don’t feel like I overpaid at all. The worst part was the 20k primers that were sold for what I paid for them. $30-1k. The guns all dropped in value, but the primers went up 3-400%…

I panic bought what I thought was a CZ Shadow 2 but when it arrived I had actually bought a CZ Tactical Sport. Not compatible with the many CZ Shadow magazines I have. Oops!

I hear there is a way to adapt the pistol to the mags so when I get a chance I'll try it out.

My only other regret is not buying more but everything got bought out so fast.

A few for me. New chiappa folding .22, sights wont drop enough, useless, savage 22/410 same thing plus heavy trigger, cz 527 fixed sights cant hit anything under 300 yards, new savage youth .22, total crap.

That is a pain about the mags and if you were planning on competing in certain divisions, but the TS is a sweet shooter and a step up.

I regret not buying more guns.

A .22 Reddot host
A .44 magnum
A K frame .357
A nice DA compact like a Beretta 92 Compact
Spare Glocks for my main shooters

If C21 fails to pass and the regulations change back then I’ll feel better about that.

my only regret is one of the guns I bought might be lost in the mail - damnit.

Regrets are for losers that maybe should think before spending money they don't have.

None, the colt gold cup national match was on my wish list for years, just grateful I found one. Also don’t regret buying a bunch of extra mags and springs. Tough to find now.

Needed a 22 revolver and my first dive in the EE was a ruger single 10, absolute joy to shoot.

I do regret the bond arms snake slayer I bought years ago, such a stupid gun, but still gets shot on occasion as a joke. Tried giving it to my brother and he didn’t even want it. Sort of regret not selling or trading it for something else

I sold an HK45CT, Custom G19 and a Sig Legion 226. I regret not selling my second G19 before the transfer ban came into effect.

I ended up buying 3 revolvers in .357, and a few autos (spares of ones I owned) but regret not buying the Manurrhin MR73 that was on sale at CSC
