I see the Ruger SR9 is now available with a blackened stainless slide as well
as the stainless slide.

Are these guns available in Canada yet and who sells them?

I doubt they'll get in, factory listed barrel length is 4.14" (105.15mm) depending on how accurate the measurement is, and considering that you won't get much interest from the factory.

Anything OVER 105mm is legal and restricted. 105.15 is a go for Canada. 105mm or less Prohib.

When I ordered a ruger P97, there was some discrepancy in the barrel length. They had it listed as 4", when in fact it was 4.2"

I would like to check one of these things out...

I agree, it SHOULD. It does, in this case depend on who's holding the tape measure - after all I have seen Smith and Wesson revolvers that measure 107mm that were prohib as 4 inch. A .15 mm margin is small enough that individual differences will play more of a role than what should or shouldn't be legal. If CFC receives a sample that got an extra pass on the crown cutter, well you'd be SOL, right?

I owned a 105.5 mm smith model 13 and it was reverified for prohib to restricted. Same deal as the HK P7M8......

If the sample of the SR9 that the RCMP lab looks at is over 105mm we are good to go.

Please tell more about S&W revolvers that may make the magic 105+ number.

I am not 12.6 and would love a "4 inch" revolver.

Sorry for the hijack, but I think this falls into the thread.

I REALLY want an SR9 myself and have been researching them but can't find much except the article I have from Guns & Ammo. I hate to admit it but I might buy a Ruger!!!!

Go to w ww.rugerforum.com, and read upon them before you buy. There are some issues with them. Some owners love them,others... not so much.
