Has anybody out there fabbed a folding wire stock a la Cz858? It seems it would be pretty easy using the Stormwerkz adapter.

They have a folding mechanism, you just add the skeletal stock or make your M4 stock fold.

This stock folds.

There are a couple of StormWerkz stock adapters and a variety of stocks which can be mounted on the 180B.
Here are a couple of sidefolding stock setups you can configure:
1) StormWerkz Ar-180B Stock Adapter, Stock Folding Mech., ACE "AKFX" Skeleton stock(available at dsgarms.com)
2) StormWerkz Ar-180B Stock Adapter, Stock Folding Mech., Universal Carbine Stock Adapter, any Ar-15 carbine
type
collapsing stock (m4, SOCOM, Magpul, Colt, Tapco, etc.).
3) StormWerkz Ar-180B Stock Adapter, Stock Folding Mech., Factory Stock Adapter, original factory stock.
For non-side folding just as above but without the Stock Folding Mechanism.
Hope this helps.

I guess my post wasn't clear enough. It's not the folding adapter that's in question, just the shoulder touching bit. I was thinking of using the Stormwerkz folding adapter, fabbing a wire stock out of steel or AL to bolt to it. I was just asking if anyone had done one.

Probably not worth hacking up a 858 stock, but copying one and welding it up could prolly be done on the cheap. What do you guys think, aluminum or steel?

Been thinking of making a tube stock like the ACE for some time, I'd like to see what you come up with. I'd also like to find a Canadian source for an ACE stock.

Regards,

J

I'll cobble something together as soon as my 'werkz folding adapter shows. Just ordered it today. I can pretty well guarantee whatever I come up with will be more spartan than an ACE, we'll see what happens.

Okay guys, a little help needed. I need the measurements of the mounting plate on the stock attachment side of the 'werkz adapter. I can start playing with this and have it ready when my adapter arrives. Also, if anybody has a factory 858 folder, I'd like to know the approximate diameter of the stock, as well as weight.

Here's what a torch, welder and too much time on my hands does. Prototype MKI, without the folder on it- I haven't cut the stock mounting thingy off yet, waiting on the folder parts, but you get the idea. It seems to me like it's missing something. Any ideas?

That'll come in the fine tuning portion after the folder's installed. Recoil pad too, can't afford one o' them fancy titanium collarbones...
