I misinterpreted the function of the barrel pin lock and pushed it the wrong way fairly hard. Its possible I damaged it.

The barrel locking pin is available for a reasonable cost so if I ever get around to removing the barrel I may just replace that pin.
The fact the barrel has to be removed to swap the charge handle is ridiculous. All they needed to do was add two holes to the plastic plate behind the barrel and swapping the charge handle would be simple and easy.
The other part that threw me for a loop for a bit was the roll pin inside the bolt carrier that has to be removed and swapped sides in order to install the LH bolt into the carrier. That seems silly to me. It could not have been THAT difficult to design the carrier and bolt so they worked together without that stupid pin.
My rifle's iron sights were dead on but holy crap is the front sight way off to one side ... which is slightly disconcerting. I have since zero'd an LVPO on the rifle so not certain why the front sight is way off to one side, but whatever the reason, it doesn't seem to have caused any issues.
