I hunt mostly moose so the .300 Wby. is first up, for grouse the .22 is a must, sometimes I take the 12 gauge but only if it's lonely, and for old times sake the model 94 30-30. And I don't go home until it's cleared it's throat a few times
yup, hard a$$ hunter, and proud of it!You hard a$$ Bob, I always take 1-2 scoped rifles, and an open sighted rifle.
Dave.

Anyone else miss an animal because of switching guns?
I usually carry a .308 Rem. pump for deer, I decided to take
out my .35 Whelan Rem.pump for a change(is this a good deer defense
choice?) Deer decides to run across a wide open skid landing,I've got lots of
time, trigger has been worked on this gun, goes off before I pull down on the deer, still time for a second shot but I'm used to the short action and short
stroked. I could have shot it three times if I was carrying my .308.(But what if it had run at me?)
When I used to live a little & hunt SE of your area, had a 308 NM for Moose etc and a 410 single shot on the dash for 'Road Chickens'.I can hunt deer in my yard basicly so i neevr really take a back up rifle unless im leaving town i always have a shot gun in the truck for those chickens you see on the road on the way into where your hunting but mainly i just have my one rifle.
