I politely apologized for hijacking the quiet kid's thread, the reasons I stated for not wanting a R1 or any other semi auto hunting rifle are common knowledge and accepted in the firearm world.

From your vast experience over the last three months on this site, you couldn't possibly know what my knowledge level is or isn't about firearms.

The last line of your comment is exactly what I was talking about, you are just too stupid to realize it.

wow! ok! i appreciate all of the comments made so far. i have learned alot. i am going to have to get out soon and shoot this thing and report the outcome asap. thanks to everyone for your contribution. please feel free to continue it is a great learning experience for me.

Why wouldnt it be a perk? ya a new barrel kit is like $500-$600 but to buy a compairable semi in .223/.22-250/.204....ect you would be looking at much more then that.....are there any semi's chambered in these calibers that are not on the restricted list? other than a .243 not that I have seen but I could be wrong.

I think it would be a huge seller for those who already own R1's I would rather a .223 conversion then a 300WSM.
 
Gentlemen, I shall have to go against the group here, I personally think that rifle would be very useful when one is hunting mobs of pigs.....no I would not use one for hunting deer or such, but pigs....my word I would !
 
well that isnt very nice i was trying to make an inquiry and the answer i was looking for was either clockwise or counterclockwise. i dont know where the foul language had to come from. i am very sorry if you think i was being insulting. i would appreciate it if maybe you found another thread to comment on as this one is regarding constructive comments regarding the benelli r1 semi auto rifle in 30-06

If I was looking for a big game autoloader I would go with the Bennelli, since that is never gonna happen, I can only recommend you try one out and decide for yourself.

Semis, pigs, bibles and s**t water are one way to tell that a thread has gone south......:D

actually i am an atheist but i got you to show that you are not interested in making constructive comments but are interested in starting fights. i dont ever start fights chum. i reposess cars and trucks and recreational equip from dirtbags all the time and i do not need any more conflict in my loife than i already have. i prefer to hear opinions that are formulated around fact but i will certainly listen to opinions based on speculation after all this is just a forum so it is a learning experience for all. if we were in a bar chum would you call me a dickhead?

For a chap who does not wish to start a fight you are certainly mouthy, and to the last bit...yes probably.

i personally hope it does this is ridiculous. all i am looking for is peoples opinions on the many times over stated combination. the benelli r1 in 30-06 with a leupold 2 to 7 scope for a deer/moose gun. i own it now and i would like some opinion and even some advice on ammo choices. i would like to play nice in the sandbox. please let us move forward
