Team Hipwell - Join the Fight

Approx. $150,000 is unpaid. That’s Mr Burlew has been kind to go forward and extend credit. But now is the time to catch up and pay for his unrelenting and tireless efforts. He put together 26 key affidavits amounting to over 2,400 pages of unopposed evidence proving the sporting and hunting uses. Showing the political move to use the Governor in Council to avoid Parliament. To show the infringement of your Charter Rights. He backed this up with 50 pages of legal argument. Dozens of precedent cases

He kept working knowing the gun owners would show their appreciation and donate to pay his account. No time was wasted. His vast experience of 25 years specializing in protecting your firearms rights has now been put to the court

Now is your time to show your appreciation by donating.

I don't think you're going to be paying that back with donations any time soon unless the CSAAA clarifies its position on the firearms buyback.
I understand that as people running businesses you can't afford to sit on dead stock simply out of principle, but this is being spun as the CSAAA endorsing the firearms buyback.
Actions speak louder than words. If you put out a statement saying "we don't support this ban and buyback" and then start negotiating on a buyback as a "first step" for the liberal plan, it looks very bad.
This is a PR nightmare.

Who in the CSAAA leadership is responsible for signing a $700,000 contract with the Liberal Government as a "First step" in the firearms buyback?

I, John Hipwell, feel I need to step in here and make some clarification/corrections to some of the post I have read today..

I can not comment on the current actions of the CSAAA as I am not a board member so I do not know the details and idle speculation will not help anyone.

I founded Wolverine Supplies, I have since retired and my son Matt owns and runs the business. Matt and Wolverine were/are involved with the legal action initiated by the CCFR. All financial donations to Wolverine for the legal fight would have gone to the CCFR unless specifically specified that they were to go to my action “Team Hipwell”.

My action “Team Hipwell” was brought about by me personally not by Wolverine Supplies. This action along with all the other legal actions will benefit all Canadian gun owners not just the named individuals, even if you have offered zero support.

For the record my son Matt has carried on the lobbying I have been committed to for several decades against restrictive gun control regulations that would not improve public safety. Separately and jointly we have made presentations to MP’s and Government groups, with our varied back grounds, we have made a very strong team.

I think mud slinging is a little premature, at least wait until the true facts emerge. Although in these kind of issues the truth is often distorted.

Dealers collectively have high legal bills regardless if they/we win in court or not.
Lets say we win (and the govt doesnt string it out and appeal it), they are still owing on their LEGAL bills.

If they/we lose, what are they (legally) supposed to do with their inventory besides surrendering it for nothing?
One supposes they could make things hard for the gov't in other ways, but we cant suggest they break the law now can we ?

No one has asked anyone to break any laws.

I think the customers and gun owners want the truth on what's going on here.

The truth shall set you free!......:)

Thank you for the post Mr. Hipwell.

For me, to cooperate with the gov is to be complicit in its agenda. I believe the CSAAA has made a grievous error in judgement.

The CSAAA undermine all the court chalenges and financial supporters by entering in a contract with the Libs.

It gave the libs a media victory - the anti a boost along with arguments that the industry agreed the IOC gun have no place in the hand of the civilian. It gave Medicino traction to implement his grabback.

If your son want nothing with this - Wolverine should drop the CSAAA membership. The CSAAA actions are a dishonour for their business members and all gun owners. For an org boosting on their web site they are the voice of hunter and sport shooters - they are clearly not.

O'Dell Engineering issued a statement & has distanced itself from the CSAAA. It makes me wonder if CSAAA board members knew of the deal?

I agree with Janeau, by cooperating with the feds it lends legitimacy to what they are doing... It makes it sound like they have the gun industry onboard...

Would be good to have at statement at least
