How much “give” would the TPU98 give you? I’m not familiar with it at all, if it sounds like a dumb question! It would be nice to be held in with the op rods and not using glue as well. If you try it out make sure you let us know how it worked out.
Ok, that makes perfect sense the way you explained it, thanks for that. How long do you expect the 3D printed buffer to last? So far the one I made from the 9mm buffer material looks really good, no deterioration at all. Granted it only has maybe 250 rounds on it, so not really a great benchmark!
That is cheap, and I thought my idea was economical! Let us know how it works out once you get one printed up and in use. I would like to have something where adhesive of some type wasn’t necessary
TNA's adjustable gas valve works well in the WK, its just a bit of a PITA to adjust when everything is assembled and the HG is on.
You just take the guts out of the factory block and replace with the adjustable system. There are 2 allen keys, one to partially block off gas and the other to lock the first in place. Pretty simple system.
Not cheap but it's the best way to help keep the gun from beating itself to death as they're pretty over-gassed.
I tried the gas regulator from tna.
Even with the holes completely blocked, the bolt still cycles and locks back on an empty mag. Ejection is still around 1to 2 o'clock. The best results I had was when the piston side of the regulator was blocked and the port was open to the front meaning that gas was venting forward. The bolt still cycled and ejection changed to around 4 o'clock.
Excess recoil and forward ejection pattern is also a sign. Ejecting cases should be at the 3 o'clock position ideally.
