New Remington 700's

Owned / know other people who own them.
Only seen the one broken bolt Handle.
You can google it up, I think year was a couple year period where they were having a bit of trouble with the brazing?
I wasn’t there when it came off but he said it happened on regular extraction. From factory ammo.
I don’t think a few solid taps on a wooden bench would knock it off. At least I know it didn’t on a browning I used to have.
Hot 7 mm case stuck in it.
I’ve owned 3 in total. The aftermarket build and custom build big got me for the longest time, spent a sh!t load of money.
Now I’m back at square one.. lol
You can’t go wrong with the Xbolt SS for a hunting rifle. It’s not suited for anything else though,
That is not the factory brazing job. The handle may have come off and this was the attempt at repairing it. That is grotesque.
I did Remington warranty work for many years and broken off handles were not super common, but they did happen. Just like extractor failures, they usually happened for a reason. One fellow broke his off when a 308 Norma cartridge was fired in the 7mm STW rifle. The attempt to beat the bolt open removed the handle. This was hardly the rifle's fault.

I can attest to a broken bolt handle ….. 
I did smack it a couple of times with the 4 lb dead blow hammer and a 2 x4 end cut. Yup, that’s MY stupidity and MINE alone! I brought the bolt to Epps for a Warranty Conversation and they sent it into Gravel Agency. A week later I received a brand new bolt (no serial number engraved ).
Long story short, after a few blows with the tools, the bolt ejected the fired case, blown primer….. There was a gap of 1/32” between the bolt body and the weld/silver solder joint/junction. My bad….
Turns out it was a blown primer wedged into the receiver and that’s entirely my fault! Remington / Gravel was super kind to sort me out.
I’m most grateful for that situation because I learned not to be so stupid (my wife is thankful)
I can vouch for Gravel’s treatment and service. I’ve always been a Remmy fanboy for decades, and this is proof they can fix my stupidity…..
Moving forward; I hope Remmy folks can produce some .223 and .22-250 and 243 rifles with tight twist barrels and get with the modern times so that I can continue sending my PR clients over to the Remmy 700 fold. Since I could not find a factory tight twist 22-250, I bought a Bergara B14 HMR and that 22-250 came with a factory 9” twist barrel to launch the Hornady 75 grain HPBT Match boooolits exiting around 2945 fps. Give or take .
Only time will tell !

As if anyone doesn't want to hear from Hungry lol.
Wouldn't want to see any of the non one-piece bolts subjected to that...although Bergara says their bolts often break before the handle weld fails in testing lol.
With Dan's mishap, given a wrong powder/big overpressure situation, I'm actually kinda impressed the bolt handle falling off was all that was wrong. Not, yknow, a catastrophic or something on the front of the bolt like an extractor/ejector and its housing cracked or blown off making the bolt a paperweight anyway.
Not making excuses for a bolt handle falling off, more like just saying if I was told to bet on whether or not my bolt is scrapped after that with any gun, I wouldn't put much money on the table. Or my face behind it haha.
