Bringing this back from the dead ... I broke the plastic shroud on my T3 today. Don't know if it had anything to do with a pierced primer - I don't really see a connection. The bolt was tight, lifted it up & split off a thin strip of the plastic that locks it onto the bolt. Looks fine from the outside, but it just slides off now.

T-3's are made from a co-polymer/fiberglass blend... this is one of the strongest and lightest synthetics period.

I somehow cracked the bolt shroud on my T-3 when I first got it. If you call Stoeger Canada, the Canadian distributor, they will send you a new shroud. Their # is (905) 436-9077.
There is PLASTIC parts on a tikka bolt!! I guess I won't be buying a tikka any time soon
