Second vote for a short Encore. Mine wears a straight tube Leupold 1-4.Win 70 Featherweight in .308W with an Aimpoint or LPVO, or a Rem 7600 with same. Also a 24" T/C Encore in .308W is really handy.
wow, that's purdy
it head shoots good at 30 yards?
I'm in the minority here and don't take head shots.

This is my choice for deer out here in NS. 7x57 Mauser, 38.75" oal and 6lb 12.5oz. Makes for a very handy little package. Toying with the idea of swapping out the 2.5x Leupold for a 1.5-5x but time will tell if I do or don't.

Very nice! That leupold is a really good one for closer range shots, think is finding one for my 300 win mag.

What do you think is the ideal light weight brush gun for the following:
-whitetail hunting
-lots of walking
-thick bush
-150 yards max shot
A Leupold fixed 4 would be a good choice as well. This is my choice for deer out here in NS. 7x57 Mauser, 38.75" oal and 6lb 12.5oz. Makes for a very handy little package. Toying with the idea of swapping out the 2.5x Leupold for a 1.5-5x but time will tell if I do or don't.
