Saskatchewan pronghorn draw

So archery season is sept 1-20 and muzzleloader oct 1-19. What season would I see the most aggressive rutting bucks? What’s the best antelope decoy?

Early September, I would stick to water holes but decoying should work.

Pronghorn have amazing eyesight and see everything so be mindful of that, however, Saskatchewan pronghorns are not hunted anywhere near as hard as Montana/Wyoming so it shouldn't be that bad.

We’re drawn in 3,6&7. Also have a couple zone 1 mule tags and a zone 35 moose tag. Basically hunting the Alberta, Montana and Manitoba borders and we live up north. My poor old truck, last time I had a goat tag it was good for 10,000+km.

I went in the rifle season last year and still got to watch them rutting. Side note I have a big red moo cow decoy I'd part with if you're interested

Got my first archery antelope!
I went with the intention of decoying them but quickly discovered how difficult it is to manage a decoy, bow, rangefinder etc when the wind is blowing. I’ll try again in a couple weeks when my boys will be hunting with muzzleloaders. I think it will go better with 2 guys, I have a buck and a doe Montana.
The rut is just starting imo. Some haremed up but lots of singles cruising around, seems like good numbers to me.

the rut has been on off here since Sept 1,lots of singles and pairs of them hanging out together. My first 2 archery tags i have filled 1 opening day by noon .(ambushed him ,he came to me ) and the second 1 with in 10 minutes of the opener decoyed , im going into the last week here with out a shot at a decent buck yet , last weekend has been the best here so far .

Here’s a couple more pics of the goat I took. To be honest if I’d been rifle hunting I’d have passed him as I had seen “nicer” ones and was only a half day into my hunt. This one was with a doe in a stalkable spot, and the fact that I’m going back with my sons so my hunt isn’t over got him killed.
I knew he was decent but when I got home and set him beside a 78”, holy cow. My baler string official score has him low 80’s.
Not often does a target of opportunity turn into a record book animal.

Beauty of a goat Starvin! Still well above P&Y and HK entry scores! Congrats!!!

I'm getting antsy, couldn't hunt the archery season but I can't wait for the muzzle loader opener. Pronghorns are by far my favourite animal to hunt!
