I think that it has limited appeal. The market will not support it. If you have a hard time finding guns and ammo most will pass. Jmho

Dan the 27 Nosler is the BEST ! Modern non belted BIG 27 cal cartridge now . RJ

Thanks to Winchester coming up with the 6.8 Western, it prompted companies to come up with longer heavy for calibre bullets and kicked the door open to a resurgence of .277 calibre rounds. .270 Winchester owners being able to load and accurately shoot 165 grain

The 270 Western doesn't seem to be attracting anywhere the interest of the 6.5PRC. or the 7mmPRC, so I really don't see it becoming popular enough to survive ,long term.

Very true but between the .270 and wby never saw the need. Just a general statement, my .338 is still throated for 250 Noslers seated to the base of the neck.

I have some Barnes LRX 155 grain #32112(Barnes' answer to fast twist .277) on order that I am hoping to make work.

Unless you want to take it overseas, many of us here do. This said few would travel with something other than a mainstay to anywhere truly wild for obvious reasons.

The 6.8 looks like a good mountain round. Fast enough to be broadly effective, with moderate recoil. Two bags of brass should last a long time. Seeing as I just found .250 Savage brass new, I don’t think it’ll be impossible in twenty years. Just tough perhaps.

Have done. Some African countries care, some don't. And if you're playing with a 270 STW, odds are very good you're not a one rifle man. - dan
