To be fair to the OP, I fully understand his feelings. There are many examples of people discussing some of the various in's and out's of our terrible gun laws.... things the anti folk would call "loop holes".
The thing is, gun owners are running out of territory to our rear.... there is no longer a place to retreat to or a rock to hide under.

We will see soon , When it’s too late
What language is this in??
"Rich Men North Of Richmond"
I've been sellin' my soul, workin' all day
Overtime hours for bull#### pay
So I can sit out here and waste my life away
Drag back home and drown my troubles away
It's a damn shame what the world's gotten to
For people like me and people like you
Wish I could just wake up and it not be true
But it is, oh, it is
Livin' in the new world
With an old soul
These rich men north of Richmond
Lord knows they all just wanna have total control
Wanna know what you think, wanna know what you do
And they don't think you know, but I know that you do
'Cause your dollar ain't #### and it's taxed to no end
'Cause of rich men north of Richmond
I wish politicians would look out for miners
And not just minors on an island somewhere
Lord, we got folks in the street, ain't got nothin' to eat
And the obese milkin' welfare
Well, God, if you're 5-foot-3 and you're 300 pounds
Taxes ought not to pay for your bags of fudge rounds
Young men are puttin' themselves six feet in the ground
'Cause all this damn country does is keep on kickin' them down
Lord, it's a damn shame what the world's gotten to
For people like me and people like you
Wish I could just wake up and it not be true
But it is, oh, it is
Livin' in the new world
With an old soul

By dint of seeing advertisements for the sale of antique handguns with modifications to accessible calibers, don't come crying if the bans are reinforced.
we really have no enemies, but irresponsible people
Unrelated but just wondering if you have a license to serve that koolaid you’re on?

IMHO
We are only one sloppy antique hand gun owner away from his/her kid, being caught, in a school yard "incident" and having "karen" getting on the war path against antiques.
Guarranty most, by far, canadians don't know or would even believe antique gun laws. I also believe that the vast majority would see it (or be told by media) as a huge loop hole that could be exploited by the gangs etc.
Those, paying attention, already know rcmp tec's have made their own changes to antique calibre designations.
Doesn't take any amount of koolaid to believe they are fully on board with more negative change.
I understand your concern but believe it’s misplaced. Read post number 2 and let it sink in. Gangbangers are the entire pistol violence problem and they aren’t going to be reloading reduced loads for their antique pistols.

Well your argument is certainly tenfold more coherent than the OP.
I don’t see it though, and I could be wrong, but I firstly don’t see anyone with the amount of investment antiques take to not just own, but readily use, being sloppy with them. I mean personally, especially in this inflated era of antique prices, my antiques are the most valuable property I own, not just monetarily but in being irreplaceable in most cases.
Then you consider the odds said owner is that sloppy, and has readily available ammunition accessible to it, or the kid/individual has that ancient knowledge on utilizing all the said materials. Essentially without that, they have a prop, which more or less accurately describes what these are, because by Canadian law they are nothing more than items resembling firearms until used in a criminal manor.
The odds of these on the streets? I can’t imagine high. I don’t know the street price of illegal handguns, but I can’t imagine they cost more than legal handguns otherwise we’d have seen more stats on legal gun owners being involved in crime (especially involving handguns) which we know is not the case. That said, the antique handgun market is massively inflated, for a bunch of good reasons partially including our recent political changes. If an antique is worth 4 times it’s (legal but frozen) equivalence, plus the gear needed to make it functioning usually insanely high as well (if you can even find the components at all) than you’re talking about a massive financial and time constraint to essentially possibly fire upwards of 6 shots in a lesser state of accuracy or lethality. There’s just no way that math adds up for a criminal, and any of the inert antiques seized in the hands of criminals can’t often be traced to a Canadian owner so there’s no saying they lead back to us.
The few pistols I know which shoot modern ammunition (I believe this was more the OPs concern) are still rarely proofed for modern smokeless, and even if they are, still taking a huge risk in being a 100+ year pistol, used and abused, proper service knowledge long since lost, and essentially obsolete.
All that under consideration, plus the current government starting to crumble before our eyes, I don’t think we need to worry any more than any of our other firearms.
