Thought some might like to see this.
The case is a Harbor Freight Apache 4800. Obviously you can use whatever princess auto, canadian tire, pelican, nanuk case you can get a good deal on. I drove the pins for the side clasps out as I just find them irritating and my concern is impact/portability vs actually submerging the case in water.
The base is a Arkco Machine Quad Base XL, he also makes a slightly smaller quad base and spike feet if you plant to use it on the bare ground. He does ship to Canada.
The recoil trigger is a JKL Precision along with their along with a picatinny mount and a magnetic mount. These guys unfortunately don't ship here, but if you look into it you can make a recoil trigger for a few bucks. There are also some other options out there that may ship here. I just found it more convenient to buy it ready to go, especially with the mounts.
The tripod is an Outdoorsman that I certainly wouldn't buy for this purpose, but I have it for other things and I also had a spare plate for the quick detach head. It interferes with the legs of the stand a little, but not much. It is stable, and any full size tripod with a similar QD plate could work, or you could just keep an allen key in the case and swap the stand and plate quickly.
The stand I really like over some of the mini tripods I've seen, they put the unit up kind of like a sail and it weighs very little so is prone to falling over in the wind. It has enough weight and is low profile enough that I can't see it tipping short of a gale.
Extra stuff, I have a cheap USB power pack, a USB cable and power block, and batteries as a last resort.
Also, thanks to LabRadar for sending me a few stickers free of charge to mark the case!
