I have a New BenchMark .284 barrel 5R 1-9 twist #1 contour to go on a Tikka action and it will be chambered in 284 Win .
But also a Special order BM #1 Fluted going on a Rem M700 in 280 AI .
I like Both cartridges. . RJ
do not know that much on contour but will it be a lightweight one? just got my hand on some 7mm bullets and i do not know if to go with the easy 7x64 or the 284 for a lightweight rig and i will have a tikka action for it.

OP hasnt logged on in 4 years lol
Thanks for the info.
Thinking about a 280 (or 270) kept light, on a model 70 action and wondering what weight the benchmark contour would be. More likely to go with a douglas #1 or fwt contour to manage weight. You know the drill, one last build!
The douglas profiles trim quite a bit of weight and I believe many other barrel makers including Benchmark will contour to that profile.
After literally dozens of rifles I am pretty much a model 70 user (or the right mauser) unless there is a real reason to look elsewhere to get specific features.
