BT! Glad to see you have a DVD out. Wouldn't mind a copy.
You have to see my point of veiw on some of the mass calls in general if not just QB. For instance the "Egg" or what ever they call it and I aint even sure who makes it and the Hurricane I think it is. The stuff is moulded plastic. No doubt they are calling turkeys but ya aint gonna see one sitting under my big old Hemlock opening morning

My jab at factory calls wasn't meant to get your tailfeathers smokin' but more as a statement of personal preference. As well likely lots of guys here haven't had thier interest piqued towards customs as you don't see many call makers unless you get on some of the Yankee sites. There are hundreds of custom call makers in the US mostly in the South so exposure here is minimum. Just a handfull here and most don't advertise. I don't and I also donate for causes like NWTF nearly as many as I sell in a season. Dumpin' on the guys I get my ideas from. BT! come on know! I must admit I bought and dismantled a Quaker Boy Owl Hooter a few years back. Makes a purty good coyote howler with the protecter off

If the server aint too busy I'll post some earlier calls including my first and you likely won't see any clones to QB's. Got to remember also the longbox and the shorter Lynch, Turpin and such were around way before QB entered the scene so who got ideas from who?
Anyhow I've been playing with some pots and wingbones too this past year and I have a hunch my first tube call will be in my pocket this season. Made a circle cutter for glass, picked up a four jaw chuck and a cute little scroll chuck for the lathes. Have a bunch of slate shingles that I'm having some divided success in cutting

and curly maple, walnut, cherry and bowelder burl coming out my behind. Picked up some Cocobola, Purple Heart and Paduak this afternoon at Lee Valley. Several calls to guys here on this forum and some to the US are on the list. Neigbours are gonna love me

First ever boxcall I made after seeing my first turkey and going straight tio the library for turkey hunting info. Butternut was the favorite wood of the author and I just happened to have some. She sports a cedar shingle paddle and worm butternut sound boards I've made some design changes here and there along the way
This call I made for Claude Gatewood who those into 10/22's will recognize. Claude called it his tomtalker and since that day I call them TomTalkers. his is TomTalker #1
#2 I swapped for a rattler skin to a feller in South Carolina but here is #3 made for Jim Sabier of Sabier.com Small caliber news. Those into sub .22 caliber varmint rifles will know who he is. Cherry and curly maple
Bottom of same call
#17 another "Feather" call. Butternut and Claro Walnut. Call #4 is also Claro and Butternut. It resides with Peter H. who is Office Labratory Administration Manager @ Johns Hopkins University. Pete does alot of research on mokeys and such and has been very active in HIV research. Not much QB cloning going on here
