My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

Why are there so many "not quite" posts ?? I have lotsa "not quites" that I don't bother posting since the 'challenge' is supposed to be "half-inch groups" .
FAIL PARADE ??

Same here. I even have some where I would've qualified if I'd stopped shooting on that paper after the first five groupings.

This is why many people think precision rimfire people are dicks, and probably the reason why. A challenge that has been going on for 10 years, has as little amount of entries than it does. You remove the members using multiple rifles and multiple entries, the numbers are under 80, Not that impressive for how long it been around.

I didn't fail to shoot 1/2" I just failed a stupid technicality. Which I was honest about, and if I didn't say, nobody would notice. 13 out of 15 targets are under 1/2", quite good average I say for such a thin barrel, and entry level ammo. I'm so glad I shoot with people that are respectful, and helpful. Not at any chance #### all over. Little encouragement goes a long way.

Biologist, is this the same 1907 rifle that's already qualified twice -- once on July 18, 2021, with a scope, the other time, more recently on February 4, 2023, with aperture sights? If it's a different rifle altogether, it's my mistake.

Unless I've misunderstood this challenge for years, it's different from the 100 yard challenge thread in which improved results may be posted. In this challenge the objective is the achievement of a certain standard -- five consecutive five-shot groups under .5" each at 50 yards. Allowing for separate entries with optics and with apertures, once it's successfully completed, it's done.

This was noted, without question or controversy, after an attempt to qualify a second time with the same rifle with apertures was posted on June 5 this year.

For all those shooters who have more than one entry with the same model rifle, it should be noted that they should in fact be different rifles of the same model. In other words, the same rifle or barreled action can't be used more than once, except when posting a qualifying attempt with aperture sights. Once the challlenge is achieved with a rifle, that rifle is no longer eligible.

Uh oh, maybe I was not understanding the rules? Before this post I had two successful entries:

- one with this exact rifle and scope using SK Biathlon Sport;
- one with this rifle and aperture sights using SK Biathlon Sport.

The August 30th post #2265 above was same exact rifle and everything, but this time using a different ammo: SK Rifle Match. So I thought it would qualify for the records since it was a different brand/model of ammo?

Underthegun is the admin on this thread, so if he says delete #2265, I will do that no problem.

EDIT Update: Entry and its photos are deleted.

Correct. Only one successful entry per rifle. Feel free to leave the post up, I’ll just take your name off the list.

50 yds shooting my Savage MKII with a Harris bipod and a squeeze bag. Rifle is in a Boyd's stock and has a Bushnell 6-24 Match Pro mounted on an MDT rail. Shooting SK Magazine.

Pic of rifle wasn't from time of shoot, just one I had with pertinent ammunition.

Good challenge, I know I'm not the only one that appreciates you curating it for such a long time.

If I achieve a better group with the same rifle in another day, say found the ammo that it likes, can I resubmit the entry with the better result replacing the previous one?

You are either in or not. So any other groups after you are in, is more just your own personal best and doesn't matter for this. I think the only time the same gun can make another entry is if you are shooting for the 1/4" club.

Correct. And it should be noted in the post that it’s a previous entry, but successful for the 1/4” club.
