A general question -- is it possible to have a sub-0.20" .22LR group that has bullet holes with space (paper) between them?

It is a matter of credibility . . . not only his but yours.
When there is a space between two bullet holes there is no conceivable way the group is less than .22".
What distance was the target shot at . . . brings to mind the target that was shot at 25 yards.

There is definitely something wrong with your caliper as seeing the manual 0.6 on the scale, there is no way the reading should be 0.6305.
