“General Purpose” seems to have lost its meaning.
Lol, there is only 3 ammo options for 303, none for 300 savage but 75 for 308 on cabelas USA website...nothing beats the 308 for this application.
Count only ammunition you have on hand. I don't care if it's factory or reloads. But do not count rounds at the LGS or further up the supply chain, and likewise don't count what you could reload if you got around to it.

So… .318 Westley Richards it is.
So when exactly does the world end by your calculation?
As long as the world hasn't ended buy more ammunition, but don't count it as part of your inventory until it's yours.
The Prvi .330" 208 grain FMJ is available, I'm guessing the Hornady Soft Point and Woodleigh 250 grainer are unobtainium at this time.
In bolt actions the Lee Enfield #5 Jungle Carbine or the Steyr M95 are top choices. Fast bolt actions, 10 rounds of 150 grainers at 2600fps for the 303, or fast reloads (the Mannlicher System is excellent) with a 200 grainer at 2400fps for the M95. Both have a mount that a light could be attached to. Put a green light and a red dot and you're all set.
The Lee Enfield can be shot faster, shot prone with the 10 round mag and has a better safety. All these things matter.
