Well I was at the checkout on a $1000 plus order when they wanted a pic of my drivers license and one of my Rpal. Wont be dealing with them EVER. Have had multiple transactions buying guns or optics for $5K plus and never have been asked for pictures of anything. Im good with my email and pertinent Rpal info but thats more than enough. What I look like shouldnt matter!!! If this is the new norm Ill just buy from other site sponsors. I wasnt even purchasing a firearm, only gun powder.
Clearly you haven't bought a gun from a store in some time. It's the law, they have to compare your PAL photo to a secondary piece of ID if it's not a face to face deal, and all deals including f2f deals need the PAL verified by the CFP. Has been this way since May 2021 IIRC.
So no, you wont just buy guns from other sponsors, they should all be doing this now and could lose their business license if caught not doing it.
Only gun powder they shouldn't need it though. I'd have called them to inquire about that.
In before everyone comments on the primer price.

Thanks. I was only purchasing gun powder and accessories, no primers or firearms or loaded ammo! It was an online purchase.Thought it was ridiculous.Longstud didn’t make it clear whether he was buying in person or online, or whether he was buying firearms.
But for sure on an in person purchase they don’t need a picture of your PAL no matter what you buy and they certainly do not need your PAL if you are not buying firearms or ammunition.
Components (primers and powder) can be sold to any individual legally old enough.
