Things to Blast at the range.

In my part of the world getting to the range in winter is not possible. I am looking forward to spring in order to test out the winter projects. Like many others we like to hammer a few reactive type targets for fun.
For example:
1) Milk jug with water
2) water balloons
etc

Do any of you have some good ideas of fun "safe" targets to blast ? My kids just love this kind of stuff. BTW we always clean up our mess and never use glass or other harmful materials.

Pics would be great too. This long winter is making me twitchy:D

Here're some vids of wacky things I've shot:

Canned Vegetarian Haggis (I #### you not): http://ww w.youtube.com/watch?v=pu20Zmk_KHE

At a farm dump, a buddy shot .303 into half full paint cans....What a work of art! We should have sold it on ebay! LOL

Awesome ideas. I can't wait to start blasting. However, I have a very delicate constitution and could never bring myself to harm those poor little full cans of beer. I think I would weep:D

Have you no respect??!!:slap:I do have a plan though. I don't know if I can make them 'go poof' but I'll empty them for you as quick as I can, and then you can shoot them. I'll even let you use the 'Big Smith'.:DI've finished my shutdown work and am;) back into retirement:dancingbanana: again so we'll have to get out to the range, soon. Any day except this Thursday.

At our 25 yard handgun range we will either stand up cans, spent shotgun shells or tie pop cans on a piece of string. Everybody that throws a buck in gets five shots and whoever hits the most targets claims the pot. If you do have a tied match, all you have to do is have those people compete until you have a winner.

Just hope you are cleaning up your Mess Afterwards! Too many times I see this kind of crap turning Ranges into Dumps!

X2, mind you that also depends on whose range it is. In NS I use the public ranges, and sometimes the A-holes will shoot bottles etc, and leave glass all over the place.

Mainly for that reason I stick to shooting things that are pretty enviromentally neutral. Jugs of water are dull, but leave no real mess.
Then the biodegradable stuff, apples, potatos, and the best of the best, Pumpkins or squash. After the first rain they are pretty much gone, if the critters haven't eaten the parts.
The pumpkins are the best, IMHO, with either a 300 or 338WM, or 12ga with a slug:sniper:

I agree that pumpkins are best,I like to take the smaller ones and drill a hole in the top and fill'em with water. Freeze overnight and bring to the range, shooting them with the 300WM loaded with 130 Hollow Points makes the range smell like punkin pie.........:D

I filled a milk jug full of water and then added four squirts of dishsoap and gently mixed it after I had the lid on. I blasted it with 8mm Mauser,it makes lotsa bubbles..........:dancingbanana:

I was at my co-worker's moose camp quite a few years ago. This person is noted as being a tight-wad. He offered me and another co-worker a beer, so we naturally said, "Sure." Well, buddy pulls out "Strohs" that other members of his hunt camp smuggled on their way from southern Ontario to northern via the U.S. I couldn't finish the first, but when I was offered the second, I knew what had to be done. I don't care what anyone says, this ####e was only good for one thing and that's what it got. Shaken, placed at 100 yards and executed for the greater good of humanity.

A 20 lbs propane tank...(empty for sure...) make a good target and I good for a long time in the yard... Me and my friend have both some SkS (7.62x39).. The tank look now like a cheese Grater but there are still some good spot to shoot on.. We shoot about 250 bullets at it ..
