In my part of the world getting to the range in winter is not possible. I am looking forward to spring in order to test out the winter projects. Like many others we like to hammer a few reactive type targets for fun.
For example:
1) Milk jug with water
2) water balloons
etc
Do any of you have some good ideas of fun "safe" targets to blast ? My kids just love this kind of stuff. BTW we always clean up our mess and never use glass or other harmful materials.
Pics would be great too. This long winter is making me twitchy![]()

Full beer cans, well shaken of course.
The 300 mag shootin' 130 grain Speer Hollow Points makes'em go poof pretty good.
Warm beer seems to make more foam for some reason...![]()

I do have a plan though. I don't know if I can make them 'go poof' but I'll empty them for you as quick as I can, and then you can shoot them. I'll even let you use the 'Big Smith'.
again so we'll have to get out to the range, soon. Any day except this Thursday.
Just hope you are cleaning up your Mess Afterwards! Too many times I see this kind of crap turning Ranges into Dumps!![]()

X2, mind you that also depends on whose range it is. In NS I use the public ranges, and sometimes the A-holes will shoot bottles etc, and leave glass all over the place.
Mainly for that reason I stick to shooting things that are pretty enviromentally neutral. Jugs of water are dull, but leave no real mess.
Then the biodegradable stuff, apples, potatos, and the best of the best, Pumpkins or squash. After the first rain they are pretty much gone, if the critters haven't eaten the parts.
The pumpkins are the best, IMHO, with either a 300 or 338WM, or 12ga with a slug![]()
