says you. I want a 20
+1 here too, I'd much rather have a nr factory version even with a 20" barrel.

+1 I'd take a 20" factory barrel over a aftermarket 18.6 cope barrel.
Factory 20" for sure.
You can always machine off an inch later if it really bothers you.
How about I don't have to machine off an inch later and they just make 18.6 instead of trying to appease fudds who just like to be contrarians.

Do you really think 1.4" is worth hundreds in extra labor and parts? Let alone it makes people fudds for wanting a factory rifle that isn't bastardized to fit our stupid niche?
It's about trying to get this rifle built with the streamlined parts that PSA already mass produces, and they already make a 20" barrel for their retro/clone rifles in 5.56, CHF, nitrided and chromelined. Also, not having to pay $650 for a R to NR conversion aftermarket with potentially questionable performance and warranty problems down the line.
It will cost extra either way because AR barrels are not plug-and-play into the rifle, PSA would have to make 20" versions and press barrels into the extension which costs more for them and requires more work only for the Canadian market, 20" barrelled ARs do not have a large market in the US so there's no incentive to make large quantities.
I say again, AR barrels require re-fitting into the extension, AR barrels will not simply mount to the receiver like an AR-15. This is more work for PSA for the Canadian market when these could be banned tomorrow.
See greentips post and watch a strip down of the rifle, you will see the barrel extension.
Sure, but irunguns has already signaled PSA is not willing to do 18.5/18.6 inch barrels for this, thus the comment about irunguns partnering with DLASK and MARSTAR to do the conversions.
Look at this barrel, barrel extension and gas block:Do you truly trust Canadian manufacturers, even ones as good as Dlask, to be able to do this seamlessly and without problems, after everything we've been through with Canadian made guns? I'll take a NR PSA barrel even if it is 20", as 20" is something PSA already produces in numbers, versus a third party conversion of this new system with unique barrel extensions and gas blocks.
Americans would say the same thing about PSA being trustworthy to make models that would be ultimately untested. So yes actually, I do trust reputable Canadian companies such as Dlask and Marstar to do barrel conversions.
To each his own then. I was not a fan of the Bren 2 conversions done on the short pistol and carbine length gas blocks, especially at the $600+ markup.

I would trust them with proven systems that have been around a while and they've worked with before, but not on a new proprietary one they have never worked on.

You're calling me a fudd? That's hilarious.
What I want is a factory made rifle. Not another "franken-rifle".
PSA already has their own 20" barrels. They don't have (and never will have) any 18.6" barrels.
