PAL Wait Time

Try logging in on web services portal and track your application. It will give you an updated status on your application. I submitted my application last week of December and I already got my license. Status on MyCFP still shows application successfully submitted but the web services portal is showing the correct status.

I did the safety course at the end of December, and applied online on the 30th. Looking at the portal, it still says "application successfully submitted." and hasn't changed at all.

I called in to check and see if my application was ok, or if I needed to supply additional or missing information. I was told that it was in "final review" but they were still working on a backlog from September.

I don't mind waiting, but, there seems to be a lot of inconsistent messages from the CFO in AB

Thanks for that, I had no idea that this existed. Why the hell can't they integrate it into the other portal? seems redundant to have to go to two separate sites to get info on the same application... Why can't it all be in the same place?

I hope that didn't come across as a question to you, it was rhetorical and just venting about the inefficiencies of our government.

Hey All,

Figured I would start tracking my application journey for others to follow along as they go through the process as well.

Submitted electronically (complete submission with cosigns) Dec. 22.
Called in to check today, license printed, will be shipped this week.

Go AB CFO!

Now waiting on my boy's YPAL (sent by snailmail early Jan).
EDIT: RCMP just charged my CC for Junior's YPAL today (01/23).

Wife and daughter doing course in Feb.

Update, 02/13, Junior's YPAL just arrived. Sent it in manually about a month ago.

AB CFO seems to be totally functional.

thats incredibly fast! did you get any updates online? or just receive the card in the mail one day?

I don't know about Eyeronik, but for my e-submitted PAL the wait time was 5 weeks. All the while, and still (Have had my PAL for 3 weeks now and managed to buy and receive 2 rifles) my application status is still "Application Successfully Submitted". So, yeah. The online update system doesn't work nearly as well as AB CFO.

I sent my application for PAL in February 2023. The online status-checker tool says it was received on 2023-03-07 and the initial review has been completed.

I called them a couple of months ago to check up on the status and they said they have no updates as they are waiting for Manitoba's Chief Firearms Officer to review my application.

With the 1-year mark coming up soon, what do you suggest I do to follow up?

Sofar for myself the course was completed December 23rd 2023

Mail received by rcmp
January 5th 2024
Credit charged January 16th

I called last week and was told it's in final review. Any idea what the process for final review is?
&My online status hasn't changes from the initial review- but from what I understand that will only update once the license has been issued.

I'm in final review now aswel!

I called the RCMP and have a problems with my application was that my names were in the wrong order. The problem has been fixed. They told me it's final review now. Does this mean my application move to the CFO? I mailed the application form not online.
I from BC

Wondering how much longer the wait will be. Have you had any updates ?

I am in Ontario

Jan 6/7 - CFSC/CRFSC completed
Feb 22 - FSESO forms returnded (7.5 weeks)
Feb 22 - Submitted PAL application and all reference/guarantor signatures required have been completed.
Feb 23 - Application Status "Application Succesfully Submitted"

FYI...For anyone in Ontario, I reached out to the FSESO office for an update on the CFSC/CRFSC forms and they stated this week that they were processing mid-January classes. Shortly after I spoke to them I received them in the mail.

Ill keep you posted on my PAL status.

So I just caught #### from the general 4000 telephone number...

Timeline:
Applied online December 28th 2023
Signatories signed off on December 31st
Called in to check the status end of January and was told that there was a 28 day minimum waiting time for new applications and to call back at the 45-day mark
Called in again on the 45-day mark, told no update, and to call back after 60 days
Called in today, and was given #### for calling so much. I explained the timelines that I was given during previous calls and that my daughter and I were just excited to get our licences and start our journey together. She got pissy and told no update, and that because of the super high amount of applicants, it is taking longer than normal. I asked if there was a backlog then and she told me no, but that there was a high amount of new applicants which was causing delays. When I said that what she was describing sounds like the definition of a backlog, and she hung up on me.

I want to be crystal clear, I kept everything about the call casual, no increasing voice, no tone changes, no profanity, no nothing.

I don't mind being patient, and I am totally willing to be. I am just confused by all the conflicting information about the process provided by this call centre.

Tempted to file a complaint, but I don't want to jeopardize our application approval.
