SO who ordered a Dominion Arms 870 Grizzly

Well I got my "Pro-Golf" package from "Disco-Tech" at noon today, and by 1:00 I was on the range firing. Put 50 rounds of Federal target loads, 15 winchester 2 3/4" slugs, and 5 3" magnum slugs down the barrel. What a Blast... literally! My shoulder is a little sore, and after a few rounds with the pistol grip my wrist wasn't too happy, but the rest of me was!

I payed last week, got shipped on monday and got here this morning, cant complain about anything at all. Very happy with the gun, yet to fire it though but dry cycled a few shells with no problems what so ever.

Hopefully not live shells? especially indoors:eek: Didn't someone here say they had a slam-fire problem with their grizzly right out of the box? I picked up some snap caps a while ago, a very good investment.

here it is

I just checked canada ammo website and it says that they are now sold out. I also payed last friday so it's been a week and i figure if all goes well , i will see it next week. :shotgun:

What? I don't recall anyone saying anything about a slam-fire with their Grizzly. Link?

Just to clarify and avoid a bunch of confusion....
I sent my trigger group back for replacement since it is not functioning as it should. Basically the trigger disconnector and trigger reset were not consistent and caused malfunctions when I 'rode the trigger' shooting fast. I got failure of the hammer to reset as well as the odd slam fire ( about 1 in 20 when I was using dummy rounds so no real BOOM) Remember that a slam fire in a pump shotgun is not the same as in an SKS, since the slam fire is a failure of the trigger disconnect you have to hold the trigger back when you close the action to get a slam fire. The SKS slam fires because of a stuck firing pin
I think it is some very rough parts/engagement surfaces since I get a definite binding in the trigger as the action is cycled. It could be fixed by a smith but since it was NIB I thought it easiest to get a replacement.
I expect I am the only one who has an issue. CanAm is very good about it and is getting it out to me ASAP....no problems on that end.

Cheers

I got mine on Friday in Winnipeg and I think it was shipped Monday morning. It's so tiny and cute yet quite heavy. It's my first shotgun and I haven't shot it yet, so what am i saying anyways. I have shot shotguns before tho :p .

ahh, I misunderstood the original post, sorry.

I Can't wait to get out to the range again... Damn this working for a living concept! :D

Just a question, where are they made?

This has been answered many times....PRC and in the same factory often contracted by Norinco for various shotgun products(don't forget Norinco itself is not a manufacturer per se but rather an arms exporter company).

well I FINALLY got out and fired mine, with an 870 trigger group in whilst I wait for my replacement part. It felt great to get out on a warm spring-like day and do some shooting.

I only got to fire about 30 birdshot and 20 slugs (normally that isn't even a warm up) and the gun didn't hiccup at any time. It functioned as well as any other 870 I have used....actually better than some of them. Slug accuracy with the bead is fine and it shoots basically POA for me at 15m, at 25m it was a few inches high for me.

Interestingly, I did notice that it was really hard to jam rounds into the magazine with the Express trigger group in the gun. I took it out and tried my old Wingmaster trigger group and it was much easier so even with the Remingtons there are differences in the tolerences and dimensions.
Cheers
