+++ February Purchases +++

Very purdy! Something that just landed in my head - what's the dif between the No4 Mk1, No4 Mk1* and No4 Mk2??? Been wondering that for a while, though knowing it may mean I'll need to get two more...

Let me guess...I dont actually KNOW

Sights...milled stamped or those cheesy flip-only ones
Top wood-grooves or not
Barrel...5 groove/4 groove/2 groove

Mk I has the button bolt head release at the rear of the bolt travel.
Mk I* has the cutaway near the front of the rail to flip the bolt head up.
Mk 2 has a frame mounted trigger conversion.

BTW, very nice looking Long Branch!

Just looking at post no1. JoeN, nice P08.
For those of you lamenting not being able to own a P08 because you aren't classified as 12-6, look at what Collectors Source has to offer.

Non prohibited model 1923 P08 pistols that have been fully arsenal reconditioned and have a 4 3/4 inch, Tikka barrel installed. Available either with wood or bakelite grips. Supposedly less than 4000 left from the original orders. All have DWM marks on the toggle, no date stamps. Overall very nice pistols. Nice clean Lahti pistols as well. Tradeexcanada has lots of cheap accessories for the Lahtis. bearhunter

9mm. I have one myself, its a great pistol. Pretty good shape, and accurate. Here it is with a Finn CZ-38.

Israeli K98

Grabbed this Israeli K98 at the Nanaimo show Sunday. Built on a BYF 43 and bore is excellent. Remember when these were $69 at Crappy tire in the mid-80's?. Might have to keep this one (for now).
Finally getting on to this "picture thing".
Cheers

Nice picture..

Great rifle Clave,
Arent uncut oprods unsafe?

Only if you want to launch grenades ;)

Hatcher considered them quite safe except in that application and I have NEVER heard of an uncup oprod failing from normal shooting. That being said, they are valuable collectables so most guys swap 'em out to preserve them.

Also, the M1 design is interesting in that even if the oprod does fail, it typically doesn't harm the shooter.
