Brand New Sig Cross - Is a rusty bore OK?

Any new developments? Does not sound like good service but what is the managers view.

The manager said, a little rust is fine, it is free and they won't charge for it.

Here are some of the retailer's fanboys/girls:

  • excellent customer service
  • wonderful staff
  • answered my emails, took only 5 tries
  • has a phone
  • fast and competent
  • rapid shipping, after 3 months
  • cashed my money in a reasonable time
  • would deal again with, in a heart beat

That would be a hard pass for me. The part where the store wouldn’t clean that out would be the deal breaker for me. Spend your money at a store that caters to you.

I spoke to the owner or manager and got a full refund. I'm not going to call them out publicly, but I'd just say that next time I'll trust my gut feeling when I walk into a place or when I see they have no About Us on their website.

Rust is not a quality I look for in a bore, but here's a used Tikka I bought a few years ago. I got a Teslong bore camera months later, and this is what I discovered

I scrubbed and scrubbed with bronze brush and Seafoam Deep Creep. Got the orange out, but there was still pitting of the steel
