Silver Mountain "Solo" Electronic target.

It's been a few years, how are these systems holding up?

Is Ian Robertson still the Canadian distributor?

There were some big issues with the Silver Mountain targets at the TR Nationals and Provincials last year, but I have not heard of any at all where Shotmarkers are used.

Although some say the Shotmarker is a copy of the Silver Mountain, there are some differences in them, and from the little I understand about electronics and the internet, the Shotmarker system is an improvement.
I have never shot on the Silver Mountain units, but we have 8 Shotmarker units running at the moment at our club with no issues at all.

The Shotmarker seems to be a more popular option, lots more info from what I can gather on the shotmarker then the SMT.

How does the Shotmarker handle slower rounds at distance? One thing I did read is the SMT can handle round closer to Mach but the Shotmarker needs to be a bit over Mach.

I believe both recomend 1300fps or better for the best reliability

We always tell shooters to make sure their rounds are at least Mach1 at the distance they want to shoot.
Our .223's have no issues at 1,000 meters, but I cannot speak for cartridges that would be than Mach1, nobody has tried them at the longer ranges on our range
