Form6 app process changes

Ya good luck with that. You won't get your att until you have the approved form 6 and you won't get your form 6 approved until you provide your att.

The CFO has sent an email saying they are working on this issue.

I received my ATT to the border 4 weeks ago. Did not provide a form 6NIA and was not asked for one. Manitoba.

Ontario CFO would not issue me an ATT until I gave them a valid ATF Form 6NIA, and the expiry date on my ATT is the same as the expiry date on my Form 6NIA.

Interesting how Ontario & Manitoba differ.

Especially since now it's all processed out of Miramichi or Ottawa.

Dear Applicant,

Some of the firearms listed on your ATF Form 6NIA application are either Restricted in Canada or could not be positively identified as being Unrestricted. If you can show evidence that all the firearms on your application are Unrestricted, we will proceed. Otherwise, in order process your submitted ATF Form 6NIA application, please provide the following:
1. A copy of your Possession and Acquisition License showing you have Restricted privileges,
2. a Firearm Registration Certificate for each firearm listed on your application, and
3. an Authorization to Transport your firearms from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Somebody else i shoot with got the same response

I decided to withdraw my last app and re-submit at a later date to see if anything would be different and it wasn't, anyhow, they have all the info that has been
asked so hopefully there will be a accepted form 6 soon in my future

I have been filling out the form 6 for the past 14 years and always added the name of the manufacturer and their address as requested on the form. For the ammunition I always broke it down between calibers when I was bringing down more than one caliber and for manufacturer I just said loaded by myself with mixed brass. For the guns i listed the serial number.

cchaddock maybe someone with your name got himself highlighted and you are the one dealing with his issue now.

In a nutshell, Pedo Joe in his infinite wouldn't-fill-the-head-of-a-dog-turd wisdom has decreed that there are too many guns in this country already and he wants any more prevented from coming in however temporarily to the greatest extent possible.

the strategy is to make anything they can't prohibit so much of a mind-boggling pain in the *coughcough* people decide it's not worth the effort to try.

Is it possible that CFP asked ATF to enforce Cdn regulations/laws on Cdns applying for 6NIA forms? You know, just to eff with us.

I would guess as it's a temp import permit. They are verifying that you can legally take it out of the country when you leave.

Tokay444. If what you say it true I would copy the Cdn regulations as it related to obtaining ATT. and sent it to the ATF and point out to them you need to have the Form 6 to get the ATT. My experience has been the ATF has been very good and they will listen to you.

Take Care

Bob
