Chiappa big badger 30-30

I can't wait to see the grips 3d printer guys come up with for this.

Anyone else find the caliber options kinda odd? 30-30 makes sense, lower pressure, rimmed, popular, but the only thing I can think is they're aiming for the US whitetail hunter market with 350 Legend as the 2nd option.

The other odd thing is the 20" barrel length.... bit overkill for the design and probably a bit front heavy.

I can see them coming out with a shorter barrel at some point.

It's also strange that this was apparently released late 2023 and there are no shooting reviews yet

20" barrel seems way too long, cut that bac to 16, and the threaded barrel and thread protector add cost and not needed.

Nice to see it fold nicely though, it won't take up much room in the trash can when it falls apart

Looking at pics it looks like 20" barrel is pretty much the perfect length for the two halves to be the same length when its folded. You won't get much (if any) more compact by shortening the barrel, the action release is already basically contacting the foreend.

I can certainly see why they stopped at 20"..... :)

Usually gun designers these days are thinking about suppressor length as well, but even for us not so free Canadians a 16- 18.5" barrel would be lighter and more compact.

While the barrel is not sticking past the end of the butt pad as you noticed, it is making the gun a bit wider when folded and it will be interesting to see how the gun balances with the long barrel and picatinny rail against the light wire stock.

It's hard to say what the stock angle feels like and the balance, but I would have been tempted to have the barrel tuck in front of the butt pad and also have something there to lock it in the folded position.... could be as simple as a rubber clasp or a moulded plastic tension retainer like for holding ammo or a broom.... :)

I predict the 3d printer aftermarket will have fun with this gun.

Iron sights are not as common as they once were, but thankfully you can buy some folding sights or low profile, lot's to choose from, or a micro dot, micro prism, LPVO scope..... so many choices today compared to the past.

if there was ever a gun that they should just offer on a mail-out as it comes in would be this one.
I seriously would buy every calibre that they put out.
just start sending me a new one every month as they come out and are on the market, don't stop until I have one of each!

inexpensive and neat, what more could you want in a plinker!

Can a gun like this be made to work with rimless cartridges?

Considering the 3 options are 410 shotgun, 30-30, and 350 Legend - the last of which is rimless - I would say yes.

Also, lots of single shots in stuff based off 308 and 30-06, I have a Henry Single Shot in 243win.

.303 British beef it up .311 groove not .314-.316 A 44-40 would be fun over a .410 as a combo gun.
