Picture of the day

What, Quartermaster was out of short shorts? :)

One is reminded of the infamous UDT shorts:

Holy crap - look at the quads on this guy.

Rocking a set of these is like wearing a kilt. Buddy's secure in his masculinity, and anyone who finds fault is just jealous 'cause they got lil' twiggy bird legs.

It can be surprising to observe how frequently the 'body builders' RTU from the tougher courses that were run at the CTC (combat training centre). Whats between the ears can play a bigger role than muscle mass when it comes to endurance.

Muscle mass is terrible for endurance. Muscle needs to be fed all the time. A guy we ride dirt bikes with is a muscle builder and he has to have a sandwich halfway through a ride and another after the ride.

Truth to that, I did the 2CMBG Iron Man in 97 and one of the muscle bound participants while great lifting weights ran out of gas on the running part long before the canoe portage. Seems having legs like tree trunks, big arms/chest/neck did not mean much in the big picture, just more weight to lug along.

German battle cruiser Prinz Regent Luitpold being towed back to Rosyth, keel uppermost.
The vessel was one of many German ships sunk by her crew in Scapa Flow on June 21, 1919, after the fleet had surrendered in November 1918.

What are the 2 curved objects beneath the upper deck? They look to follow the same curve as the 2 gear tracks on the deck.
Blast curtain of some sort?
