All-New: Type 81M

It’s not like TI is trying new things. The side folder is largely used by Chinese Army 30-40 years ago. The under folder is from Type 56-1 which was standard issue rifle also 40-50 years ago. They just bringing different styles so they can sell them even u already have a T81 at home. T81 under folder was first designed back in the 90s to export to US(as T81S-2).

I want to say the front sight at this position looks more balanced.

Wow as if now people are whining about a hole in the rear of the trunion on the folding stock models LMAO my side folder has that hole and I have legit used it to clean the rifle chamber to muzzle. Really isn't a big deal.

Now, if I could at least get an update on my Type 81M fixed stock order (281XX) since I placed it 2 days ago...

gonna be awhile for you, couple weeks, maybe months lol .....as of friday, 15th, they were shipping 267xx
people need to chillax a bit on when theirs will ship when they ordered on friday at 4:59 pm, and their order was 20 000 orders behind tuesdays orders lol
TI did say they hired 10 shippers to get them out....so...you'll get it it due time by september, maybe

Also, the next batch of T81 might be the 5.56 NATO one:

Where can we get any of that surplus (or new) wood furniture?

In terms of this new T81 offering, they added some features that people wanted and removed some that people didn't want, but then strayed away from the proven and popular side folder design (that had been used already in multiple runs of the Type 81) for the less practical and less functional under folder. Missed opportunity to create basically the perfect Type 81 (in my eyes).
You are absolutely correct. Had they took the current sidefolder and Added all these nice features. The rifle would sell out faster than mom's breakfast on a Sunday morning.

Nah hard pass on a 5.56 chambered variant T81's are for chewing through cases of cheap surplus and 5.56 costs a gold deal more at this point. Save that for nicer guns.

So long as we’re all making wishlists.

I’d want a 5.45X39 if ammo can be sourced.

I’d likely take a 5.56 too.

I want one that runs on marshmallows and has a skittle dispenser on the side

Trudeau would never allow it - a rifle designed to dispense skittles as fast as possible? WAAAAY to assault style.

He will allow you eat beef style burger, made from Quebec crickets.

He also will allow you to use plastic straw style paper straws.

All this done under the banner of Trudeau’s democratic style tyranny.

Trudeau will be history by that time

A 5.56 T81 would be absolutely incredible. Keep it simple, as in just make it a standard T81 as we love but chambered in 5.56 and it would be fantastic. When companies make a lot of drastic changes, the accessories industry always has to play catch up, so keeping the footprint identical to the usual T81 is what I dream of; basically just reproduce that T81 in 5.56 intended for export to the US and it would be the golden gat

absolutely correct.

i've no idea what you are saying, lol. please rephrase.

Norinco, as we know, is a Communist Chinese export company. Not long ago, they sold commercial versions of SKS's to North America and they were sh1t. I'm not saying these 81m's are sh1t, but I do believe them to be commercial variants of military issue guns.
