Winchester Model 12 12ga. Pump $$ Value

This is like asking "I have a Chevrolet. What's it worth?"

There are so many Model 12 variations that a lot more information would be needed for even a wild ass guess.

Yeah, I'm just kidding. Search around on the net for one that is similar to yours. Then check their prices. Usually it's somewhere in the middle.

I had a Win. Model 12 with the Factory Poly Choke and trigger disconnect. The wood was re-finished and the overall condition was very good.

It was made in the late 1950's..................Sold it for around $250.00 a year or so ago...............they aren't worth as much as you would think.......................Depending on Condition I say it is worth $200.00 to $350.00 Max..................

SKBY.

the model 12 was a very good pump shotgun in its day. as far as saying"they're great old guns", that could be applied to a host of other models of rifles and shotguns as well. as skullboy says, they aren't worth as much as you think.sometimes value is based on ownership i.e. if i've got one then it's worth a lot.

Anyone with all original, excellent condition, one owner, low round count, 12 gauge Winchester Model 12s willing to sell the gun in the above price range please PM me. Even for least desirable model, a plain barrel, full choke model in that condition it would be a more than fair price for me. These were guns that were used and finding one in original condition isn't common and they aren't making them any more.

Due to "collector interest" the value of a Model 12 depends on its features. Barrel length, choke, the presence of a rib, the style of the rib, even how the rib is attached to the barrel can all affect the gun's desirability. Is it a 'Y" model, Featherweight, Heavy Duck, Skeet, Trap, Super Field, Black Diamond, Tournament Grade? Does it have a factory Cutts compensator? These all matter in trying to set value.

Winchester Model 12

This Model 12 12.ga has a 28" non vented rib and modified choke and was bought in the mid 50"s new by my father and used only once for bird hunting.

The solid rib, barrel length and choke make it more desirable than the 30" full choke guns that are most common. It is less desirable than a gun with an IC choke, vent rib, one of the various target models or the smaller gauges.

I'd say this gun is worth at least $500 primarily based on the excellent condition and assuming it was stored properly in the last 50 years. Stock configuration and wood quality also matter. If it is chequered, has the broader forend, pistol grip it's more desirable. Less desirable would be no chequering, straight grip and corn cob forend. If it has a recoil pad it shouldn't be squashed from sitting on its butt for 5 decades nor should the wood be oil contaiminated in any way. If the box and original paperwork are with the gun that also adds to value. You might be able to stretch the price to $700 for a pristine specimen with all the paperwork, box and hanging tag but that would have to be one outstanding gun.

The real collectors markets for these guns is in the U.S. It would be worth far more there because Americans will pay dearly for anything with the flying "W" on it. Here not so much.

I beg to differ that the broader forstock adds value to the model 12. This signifies a newer production year and i would think an older model in this condition would be worth more! As for our american friends i see more nice model 12s for sale @ gander mountain for a lot less than they are in Canada. I just wish I could buy in the states and bring them home.

No checkering or butt recoil 100% blueing and only a couple slight scratches from when my father dropped it into the boat for the first and last time. The bore has a mirror like finish, never shot modern bird non lead shot

No problem. Differ as much as you like. But how about you put your own valuation on this gun?

BTW, I checked current Model 12 prices on the Cabela's website. Didn't see any bargains there and prices definitely higher than they are in these parts.

$ 500 to $ 750 depending on the severity/noticeability of the "scratches" ...

To a collector, condition is everything, and Model 12's with this amount of original finish remaining / those that haven't seen too much handling wear ... are definitely worth a bit of a premium.
