All-New: Type 81M

From Vancouver area. Originally from Ontario so I've seen both sides of the problems. Ontario seems to have a lot more places that sell stuff compared to here Alberta as well. I'm mainly into collecting to be honest the way I see myself only having fun with a few of my rifles mostly my T81.. no harm in that but I do enjoy the 590A1 platform also for other calibers. This site is pretty cool I've looked at a few threads before but had to make an account after I saw half the #### everyone's dealing with was similar to me.

The 590A platform for "other calibres" ? That's interesting. I always thought shotgun cartridges go by gauge instead of calibre, except maybe the .410 bore.

Can you pls elaborate ? What would be the calibre of a sabbot slug ?

Received mine tonight. Exactly what I expected, except the slant brake was missing. But I'll chock that up to an oversight and being swamped with orders. I'll email them and I'm sure they'll make it right.

As for the rifle, she's a big of a hog. But I expected that. And my main comparison is my SA side folder from the 2017 import. The older gun is sleeker and overall, a better design IMO. I wish they would have slimmed down the barrel to cut weight and used the same wood as the older design. But those aren't deal breakers to me. I just tried to put my old SA wood on the new gun just to see if I can and it won't work because the barrel is significantly larger on the M's. All good though. I'll upgrade it when the time is right. The aftermarket will take care of it over the next few months once more of these are in people's hands. All in all, I'm happy with it and it's a cool addition to the collection.

Welcome BCGill........new to the site, happy first post!!! Tell us a bit about yourself, what you shoot, where you are etc

Thanks! Pretty new to the game, just grabbed this as my initial purchase. Was looking at the Chinese SKS or a Type 81. TI just put em up at the perfect time so had to pull the trigger on it. Located on the West Coast in BC, can't wait to go to the range once I receive it and test it out. Already picked up some ammo for it.

Perfect timing. Tactical Imports just released these specifically for you. Your going to love it. The SKS is a great rifle also. Get ready to spend alot of money over the next 10 years. You will always want that one more gun.

Nice, what ammo did you choose ?

How do I cancel my order? Ive been trying since yesterday no one answers the phones.

Reply back to their original email or message them under the contact info on the website. Include the order number and that should start the process. They do have a non refundable 3% cc fee.

If the optic/receiver and barrel had 5 degrees of difference then it still wouldn't matter? Would still be zeroed to infinity?

It wouldnt theorically, however most optics only have like 40 minutes of *angle* adjustment for windage and elevation.... thats like a degree or maybe 2 max, id have to do the math. Tactical Imports 4mm barrel misalignment tolerance works out to only 0.482 degrees. Like 2-3 ft at 100m.

Interesting the slant comps seem to be missing. They sent the incorrect one with mine, appears to be the "factory defect" model, with the incorrect thread size. Not the end of the world but it doesn't sound like I'm receiving my replacement until they receive the defective one, seems a bit silly considering they're clearing them out for $9 on the website

Package was processed in Calgary yesterday, arrived in Richmond this morning and now won't get delivered until April 4th. Several days after Easter.

Why have the CP gods forsaken me?

Got mine in today, looks good except for a scratch on the stock's finish but probably gonna sand it all down and re-varnishing it.

But anyone's magazine loose by any chance or is it supposed to be a tight/snug fit? Not sure if it's supposed to have a little movement cause mine does, mag fully seated in and it's not gonna fall for sure it just has some movement.
