All-New: Type 81M

You mean the "slant compensator"? They are still in stock. Perhaps, they have to transport them to their warehouse in Calgary. I ordered a slant compensator, 2x5/10 magazines and a sling, and received all items together with the rifle in the same package from Calgary. But I ordered on March 12. I guess that at that time they had all accessories available in Calgary.
You should be still pumped about this rifle. The more I shoot my underfolder, the more I like it. And I'm most likely much older than you with dozens of various guns under my belt. You can read my assessment of the underfolder here: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...pression-shooting-Type-81M-Underfolder-at-25y.

Right, pardon me, I ordered the slant “compensator”. Is your UF straight? Cause I’ll be pumped when it finally shows up and it’s straight, if it’s bent I’m going to be p!ssed off. I think it’s a dirty move from TI not to disclose this 4mm off center “tolerance” and then charge a 23% re-stocking fee for those who didn’t sign up for bent garbage. For $1200, 4mm is unacceptable, full stop. I’ve seen plenty of pictures of these rifles online, bent within their arbitrary “tolerance” and they look like complete d@g sh!t.

I appreciate your assessment of your Type 81 and I’m glad you’re enjoying the rifle. Hopefully I’ll be equally as happy when I get mine, fingers crossed that the bent ones are less common than all these posts have lead people to believe. Im hoping it’s a case of a few problematic ones getting disproportionately posted because their new owners are rightfully upset.

If they're within tolerance and they're that bent and weren't disclosed, that seems kind of low to me. It's not one customer you're even doing it to. It's hundreds. People shouldn't have to see customers complaining to find out that's the finished product they might get. You guys could have posted the same photos but then you wouldn't get the restocking fee I suppose. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You guys have a tentative date my order number is 290XX Order placed in March 18, RCMP notification on April 5 i emailed them already but always received the same response been worried that i might get the returned bent ones.. already bought ammo and stuff but its been too long to not even shipped

You won’t get a returned bent one - they are still getting the 288xx range of orders out. Have a tracking number but not yet shipped.

Too much work to re-pack an opened one to look new, and they have not yet sold out the underfolder yet.

I wonder if things have slowed down for them to open and check for bent before shipping.

My fixed stocks finally arrived today. Looking at the first one, **Image and video linking functions will be enabled after you have contributed more to the forum**front sight block looks bent. Any thoughts? Thanks. Lots like my account is too new to post images, anyone able to help out?

Nothing more or less like all the previous SE and SA versions before. Money is tight so people are more conscious "I want my money back". Whiners, all what everybody of you wants is buy a $1,200 rifle and make $500 in resale value, now that it looks as if it doesn't happen, everybody wants out. So funny.

I have been posting on here for weeks now that those rifles are POS. Nobody listened.

It's really hard to say how common "bent" ones are based on the complaining of the CGN community. Unfortunately the ones that are really out of "spec" do tend to get everyone riled up and looking real close at theirs.
I've owned a bunch of type 81's over the years. Fixed and folders from the SA and SE as well as the lmg. Maybe some of them were bent, but it's never been obvious enough to me that I had to break out the tools to measure and I just don't feel like stressing out about it. I've been quite happy with every one I've owned and any that are less straight just don't get an optic on the receiver.

There's like a small gouge/wood missing at the head end of the stock(where the stock meets the metal receiver). Should I bother contacting TI? or is this a nothing burger? Also can't tell if my rifle is straight or not lol

didn’t ship yet, but they made a label… my order is really simple, UF and one extra mag

If you have canpost app and sign up for package notifications, they will tell you well before TI does.

This is true. As per CP my shipping label was created on the 1st but didn’t get notified by TI that the rifle was shipped until the 9th. Yesterday CP site said delivery by the end of day yesterday and predictably it didn’t arrive. Shipment info was updated this morning to delivery by eod tomorrow. We shall see.

Ahh, I see. I apologize, my impatience is showing. I’m gonna check out that app so I can watch my order sit in “shipping label created” limbo for the next 7 days and really get my blood pressure up. Thanks!
