All-New: Type 81M

I just checked too, nothing. 286xx, March 15th and still waiting. Coming up on a month. What a sh!t show. Hype is completely worn off.
Never dealt with TI before, likely never will again. I understand the large volume of orders but the process seems completely unorganized with others jumping the queue, rifles and accessories on opposite sides of the country apparently. Not to mention not disclosing, then downplaying the bent rifle issues, the “within tolerance” nonsense and the 23% restocking fee if you don’t want bent sh!t, which in my mind isn’t much different than theft at this point.
All I can do is hope I end up with a straight rifle when I really just want my money back but don’t feel like taking a $300+ restocking kick in the b@lls and end up with nothing.

Careful, sounds like you're whining. People don't like that here... lol

But in all seriousness, I hear ya loud and clear. Last and only TI purchase.

For that logic to apply they needed to disclose that it is possible that the barrel may be misaligned up to 4mm off center prior to being warrantied. Or that stocks may be misaligned by X prior to being warrantied. Except they know that if they said that up front their sales would crater and they would be stuck with a bunch of inventory. I can tell you for a fact that if I read that my rifle may be up to 4mm misaligned I would not have placed the order no matter how cool I think the UF looks. I also would not have hyped up all my friends about how cool these look. I'd just pay the same or a bit more on GP for one I can verify myself. I am sure there are people who would be happy to roll the dice, but there are also people who don't want to risk 1500 on what may be hot garbage.

Charging unhappy customers 20% restocking fee when you didn't disclose relevant information so that they could make an informed decision is both deceptive and unethical business practices. If you are happy to roll the dice and be misled all the power to you, but not everyone is happy to play the lottery without knowing ahead of time what the terms actually are.

The issue is well known and has been well known since they were first brought in years ago, it obviously hasn't affected sales. Anyone who bought one and is complaining about it (especially if they haven't even received it yet, see below) deserve to be taxed the 23% restocking fee just for not reading a single damn thing about these rifles before ordering.

We are literally on page 328 of a massive #####fest and I'm the one "whining"?

Yes.

Don't normally Post but...

Totally agree with everything you said. I for one would not have put my money on the line knowing I may get a bent rifle. I would probably not have made the purchase knowing the delays would be this long either! The fact TI did not divulge this information ahead of time speaks volumes!
This is coming from someone who worked in this industry and has experience in high volume sales of cheap firearms.

I don’t give a f#ck what people like or dislike. The whole situation with the 81m has turned into a sh!t show and people have every right to be angry about it.
Those who think otherwise are either ok with overpaying for bent sh!t or, if they were lucky enough to receive a straight one, are ok with a company duping others who weren’t so lucky.

Yes.

Expecting a new rifle to be straigh as been pretty much the norm for at least 150 years. My first 81 was from the SE batch and from what Ive read the issue was resolve back then. So it was fair for me to expect the same quality that the SE was.

With the quality of rifles coming to the market currently, I would rather have a slightly misaligned rifle that is reliable (type 81) vs any of the Canadian made rifles that are more expensive and barely work

100% agree with you. But TI should be open about this and disclose such info. Its not fair nor honest pratice not to do so.

I would not have said a single word about this if it had been disclose prior to me find out that my rifle was bent. My SE as some cosmetic imperfection but was straight and apparently I am moron for expecting the same quality with my folder. Luckily my 81m fixed came straight.

This. Every type 81 I’ve owned including the new underfolder with a slightly (1mm) misaligned barrel actually function properly. Accuracy is typically 3-6 MOA with surplus. They don’t jam. They don’t break. The finish on the under folders steel seems kinda sub par and scratches easily. The wood is only finished where visible when assembled on the gun. Comparing it to another 7.62x39 semi auto - the MX10 - which has a very nice finish, a Bolt that feels like it’s running on ball bearings and a modern sleek look, but it’s an unreliable and inaccurate POS. That’s Gen 1 and Gen 2. I’d take any of the type 81’s over it in a heartbeat.

Loud and clear, in the record books, nobody asked but we got it anyways, and I’m sure TI are shaking in their boots. Back to the 180 platform with you.

Comment I quoted legit said the same thing but you choose to chirp me. Big brain activity, legit know NOTHING about me or my firearms. But hey, keep sending er.

Also, why you simping for TI? "shaking in their boots" what does it matter to you if I critique them?
