All-New: Type 81M

I am currently waiting for my Type 81M Underfolder (ordered April 1st, guess I'll be waiting awhile). Been pretty nervous seeing the posts around bent barrels. Out of curiousity, how significantly would a bend that is not covered by warranty (under 4mm) impact accuracy between 100 to 200 meters? Would there be a way to reliably correct the bend without weakening the barrel?

Thanks in advance,
Dan

The barrels are not bent. No one has reported a bent barrel.
Given that the rear sight is at the barrel breech, and the front sight out at the muzzle, iron sight accuracy isn't going to be affected.
The axis of the barrel and that of the receiver may be out of line. Mount an optical sight on the receiver and there could be a problem.

No one has reported trying to correct barrel/receiver alignment issues. Obviously any attempt to do so would void any warranty.

and somehow my bolt carrier is now stuck in the rearward position.

This happened to me when I was installing threaded pins for a side mount. I think I may have depressed the trigger while the bcg was being manually cycled. I depressed the trigger while the bcg was in mid travel. Locked up like you described. I just took a long skinny flat blade and pushed down on the hammer and it released the bcg ( make sure you're holding onto it) Not sure if its the same issue you have but hope this helps.

Just unboxed my T81M underfolder and was playing around with it, checking mag fitment, cycling the action ,etc. and somehow my bolt carrier is now stuck in the rearward position. There is no magazine in the rifle and it seems that the trigger is depressed/won’t reset. Additionally the safety seems to be stuck. I’m thinking that maybe something funky is going on with the safety and/or trigger group. Has anyone else run across this and what is the fix?

Got it sorted. Thanks to all for the replies.

BTW - I’m really diggin’ this T81. Love the underfolder vibe and honestly now that I have it in hand I’m amazed at all the gripes in regards to the finish, furniture, etc. In fact it’s better than I had expected. I do understand people being unhappy about barrels that are visibly not square to the receiver but luckily mine seems to be straight, tight and right. Really looking forward to slinging some lead with this thing.

Just an FYI about anyone on the fence about any of the delta dynamics accessories, I got their AK pistol grip today. It's solid and comes with all the hardware you need to mount it. Comparable to the older Sigmaco grips. You won't be disappointed with one.

I don't see them mention on their website what type plastic they use to 3D print. Any info with the grip?

Problem really is my Credit Cards where charged way before processing and shipping.. It just seems un orthodox..

No, all companies do that. I have yet to place an online order with any company which does not charge the cc once you hit the buy button. How do they know it is not a hoax? Every time I place an online order, I hear one minute later "bing" on my phone, which is the charge notification.

Many do pre authorizations and charge when item ships

No because it is a stamped receiver. You will bend the metal and/or wallow the pin holes in my opinion.

There is a lot of good info online out of the us about cheap stamped ak’s. mainly century builds from the early 2000’s. iv8888, Brandon Herrera, etc Basically, the issue is the alignment between the receiver and the trunnion not the trunnion and the barrel. You could send it to a guy that could do a complete build with your parts but it wouldn’t be worth it. When it all boils down, it’s best to enjoy it as is with crooked irons and no optics

Nope. I know as much as you do. All i can base my opinion on is how the grips feel. The Sigmaco grips were the best, but all I can tell you is that these feel similar. I ended up purchasing another, off of a person who's making them and selling them on a different "gun-posting" site. It didn't feel nearly as good in the hand as the delta grip does. Time will tell how it holds up but right now it seems as though it's the best option out there.

It’s actually quite common not to be charged until shipping. Them preauthing your card and fully processing your payment are separate things.

The firearms industry are the only ones who do it in Canada. Closest is hotels who “check” your card with a 100 charge and refund it if you don’t order room service or break a window. Wife bought a new f150 earlier this year custom order that took a few months and the dealership didn’t ask for a penny in “pre order” until the keys were on the desk in front of us
