For the WIN

I like the dirty 30's..lol...I switched out from my old doll, the 300 WM to the new and exciting be all to end all 300 WSM back in the days of WSM introduction and haven't looked back. LOL
Moose, deer, bear, Yotes and a rabbit...takes em all with ease...esp the rabbit !! It's all around great game cartridge for everything large we have here in the east coast.
Mind you, it's not a Big Bee like you guys have, but heck...look at the powda I'm saving ..heh heh heh

I can't argue that. Nice round for a compact rifle build. One could also do up a 458 WSM build for hunting dangerous game as well.
The 300 WSM case is nicely suited for necking up to larger bores & is efficient to run.

Dunno if I'd trade in 300Win for the 300PRC offering...not exactly a huge velocity gain there.
And the "belt" issue with 300Win, I'm still not sure what the issue is exactly?

Me either Cub ! Been loading for the 300 WM and 7mmRM since the 80's....only ever had 2 issues of a case head separation...both same batch...me being cheap and pushing the # of reloads...my fault 100 %. Never happened again after that.

It's a similar situation to the 375 Ruger vs 375 H&H. The Ruger/PRC is a better cartridge. But if you have a 300 WM that you like there is no reason to replace it, especially in a hunting rifle.

The 300 WM is actually a pretty poorly designed case anyway.

The issue with belts is that most are pointless and the diameter they take up could be better used as case capacity.
