Hey there:
Not sure what to check here, or maybe nothing...
For the longest time, no issues feeding Federal 9mm HST 147gr in my FX9, through various mags.
Today at my club, I loaded up HSTs again in my Glock 10 rounder, PMAG 10 rounder, and Pro Mag 10 rounder. All had consistent feed problems 4-5 rounds in - looks like round is stuck somewhat diagonally and cannot be chambered. I just had to pull the charging handle out and give the gun a shake when turned to the right to eject the stuck round.
I then ran through Syntech 147gr TSJ on all my mags (about 60 rounds overall) without a single feed issue. Then loaded more HSTs and back to intermittent feed issues.
I didn't have any other hollowpoints on me to check, but will bring some more next time. In the meantime, anyone want to hazard to guess why all of the sudden I am experiencing feed problems? The issue when it jams is always the same - from the ejection port I can see that the round has the back of the cartridge in the 10 o'clock position where as the nose of the HP bullet is at the 4 o'clock position.
It never did this before on these HSTs (and I have run hundreds of them in periodic testing), so either something has changed in the gun or I ran into a bad batch (I am doubtful on the latter).
Any suggestions would be helpful. I will bring different hollowpoints next week to test, but I'd like to know why it's doing this all of the sudden.
Thanks in advance for any ideas or feedback.
